Combination Talking Alarm
I like having the Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm combined. This way there is only one item on the wall and with the Talking Alarm feature, we are sure to awaken should the alarm ever go off.

Slight Difference Noted
After owning a Kidde joint CO2 & Smoke Alarm for about 7 years, I received an unexpected signal which I thought was an alert that the batteries were low. Upon changing to new batteries, & finding that wasn't the problem, I decided what most all men do at that point; I finally read the instructions. Excellent product
I was replacing an older model that had seen better days. The installation was fairly quick, but I did have to change the mounting screw placement. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the new model.

Happy it fit
The good news is, even though they changed the outside design, the base still fits exactly the same as the unit I was replacing. No new holes to drill. Other than that, not much to note except the battery compartment door needs to face up on a wall mount situation so it doesn't just flop open.

Ordering online was easy.
The battery door seems a little flimsy. Pops open too easily. Overall quality seems fine though. I will be purchasing about 5 smoke detectors in the near future. I may do a little more comparison shopping before going with Kidde this time though.

Great product
Nice cosmetic, very easy to install and to test. I did not have to replace the old base mounting plate,the new detector fit perfectly to it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

has served me well but time to replace
I've used since January of 2008. Never had a carbon monoxide alarm. The few smoke alarms I had were caused by cooking in the kitchen. Never had a false alarm. I don't like that the smoke alarm has an ionization sensor. I will replace with a smoke alarm that has an ionization sensor and a photoelectric sensor, and buy a separate carbon monoxide alarm..

disposal of old unit
My only complaint is the smoke/CO alarm says it has radioactive material, but nothing was mentioned on how to dispose of the old smoke/CO alarm.
