Would RecommendJust installed 2 of these i12060A’s to replace 15 year old similar wired units with backup. NOWHERE in the ‘user guide’ is a life limit specified. There is a 10 year ‘warranty’ but I need to know WHEN they will loose their sensitivity and need to be replaced.

False Alarms
Would Not RecommendIf you do not like to sleep for a full night, but these alarms. My alarms are hardwired and have fresh batteries. Every few months they go off. sometimes it is the battery replacement chirp (batteries measured full power on test meter) or the alarm screaming Fire! Fire! Usually in the middle of the night, at 3 AM or so. Kidde sent me replacement units. These had the exact same problem.

Would Not RecommendInstalled 9 detectors November 2020. Detector is AC hardwired, but still get low battery chirps and replacing battery every year. Why do the low battery chirps always seem to happen around 3:00am when trying to sleep. Also have issues with random chirps & false alarms. I have very tall ceilings... so it's a pain to clean the detectors every month hoping that it prevents false alarms. Will eventually replace with another brand.

2am - replace battery won't stop-along with combo
Would Not RecommendI have this model and the KN-COSM-IBA (reviewed that one too). An electrician installed them about a month ago. Wake up at 2 am with beeps and alarms that the battery is low. We replaced the batteries in both and it still won't stop. So it is now 3:15 and here is my review. We replaced the batteries, reset the circuit breaker and nothing. Had to pull them off and will call electrician. I wish I would have read the reviews.

High Premature Failure Rate
Would Not RecommendThese alarms are supposed to last about 10 years. They are failing prematurely at an "alarming" rate. I have had 2 fail that were manufactured in April 2018. They constantly chirp and the 9V batteries are measure new by digital voltmeter. I tried to blow out any dust that might be causing the false alarm as recommended but this did not stop the chirping. These smoke detectors are hardwire and should have minimal drain on the backup 9V batteries.

Best smoke alarm I have ever used
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this and immediately replaced my smoke alarms. It was easy to install. Very sturdy. And no more killing my neck while changing batteries. This comes with the battery compartment attached to the front so no more unscrewing and taking the alarm apart. To too it off they are not expensive at all. I highly recommend these alarms.

Failure rate shouldn’t be this high
Between 2 and 3 years expect to get some chirpers which can’t be troubleshot. They just gotta do better than that. Good news: changing batteries is easy as is connecting/disconnecting the unit. Bad news: you’ll get practice.

As with a number of other reviews, they began chirping early on. I've replaced the batteries with high quality 9v batteries three times and they still chirp. I agree, this model is junk for some reason.
