What a difference!!

I decided against paying someone to do my attic insulation and handling it myself. What a difference it has made. My wife and I did it in less than 3 hours and took 19 bundles for our 1700sqft single story home. We recommend when loading the machine to put in a quarter bundle at a time instead of half. Johns Manville Blown-in Insulation

I purchased insulation and picked up blower to install insulation. Machine would not function. Store manager was great and discounted product an additional 20%. Unfortunately, single machine between 2 stores in a town of 65,000. Manager contacted a store 30+ miles away and they stated that they had a machine and would hold it until I arrived. make sure you follow directions regarding the use of the blower. We didn't at first, and the blower took forever to fluff the insulation.

Insulation

We blew 20 bags in less than 90 minutes. This worked great. We'll see if it helps next winter.

worst product ever

I installed 10 inches in my attic in January. I checked my fuel usages every 30 days since with no change . So it went in easy but no saving in fuel. $500.00 wasted

Good choice for attic insulation

The attic of my 1981 house had only about R19 value blown in insulation. After getting a couple of winter electric bills, I knew I had to add more insulation. Since I already had blown in insulation, I had to add blown in insulation on top of it. With the free rental from Lowes (more than 10 packages of insulation bought) it was going to cost less than $300 to bring it up to R38. Great stuff

We had an old farm house with no insulation in it. This product goes farther than what it says. My friend feed the hopper and I sprayed it. Great, easy to use, non itching, and could see a heating diffrence right off the bat.

Good DIY freindly product

Read other reviews which were very helpful. My .02c - Have machine checked out before you take it out of the store. Make sure hose has the lock sleeve to attach it to the machine. The base of the machine is HEAVY- I hauled it up 3 stories but probably could have left it at ground level - the air flow seemed more than sufficient to transport the media up that far. 2 are required to operate the machine. Easier than expected, and relieved it is finished.

This project has been on my to do list for some time, after reading the reviews and other information I decided to purchase this instead of the cellulose, and owens corner. This product was not dusty at all, the majority of the dust came from the old pink insulation. Once we had everything duct taped and in place the only issue that we had was feeding the machine, finally we place a table beside the hopper and if you cut the bags right and just let them expand into the hopper it creates an autof...

Very worth it

This product is very affordable and easy to use. The machine worked very well for us. Surprisingly we got more square footage of coverage than expected. I felt the difference right away inside the house.

Great choice

I have now used both the fiberglass and cellulose versions of blown insulation. Here is my take... Spend the little extra and go with the fiberglass. It covers more area and is very very clean to work with when compared to the cellulose. I blew 17 bags into my attic in about 2 hours including clean up.

Blown In Fiberglass Insulation

This product was easy to use. It took two of us. One in the attic and another feeding the product into the hopper. It took a few hours to blow in 26 bags.

Good choice

I had two guys feeding the machine, but one can easily do it. It took 2 hours to blow in 15 bags. I duct taped a 4' piece of PVC pipe to the end of the hose as suggested by someone else. This made it alot easier. I also taped a flashlight and the remote control to the pipe. I have done this before using cellulose and I prefer using fiberglass. easy to install

My brother and I installed 9 bags in the attic above my garage in like 2 hours. The equipment from Lowe's was easy to use and very beneficial. There was more than enough hose. The insulation was difficult to pick up when we spilled some though (like feathers).

Good stuff

The product is like blowing snow. Three of us put in 40 bags in 4-1/2 hours. One blew the insulation, one helped with the hose slack, and one fed the hopper. The blower log-jammed easily. Not like the video. One must be careful to SLOWLY feed the insulation into the hopper. Also, it is best to use a light string on the hose and tie it to the machine from both sides. The better blown in insulation to use

I love this stuff. Used cellulose & pink corning before & I'll take the manville product over them any day. Why, simple; cellulose is a mess, pink glass is extremely itchy & irritating. The Manville product has the consistency of raw cotton out of the bag & looks like artificial snow out of the machine. It's easier to see in confined attic spaces and the machine is almost perfect. The product was very easy to work with.

I was very pleased with this product. My three boys and I and one other young man were able to blow 26 bags in the attic of our church's fellowship hall in about 4 or 5 hours. The machine worked very well. If you have to get back into tight places, taping a length of 3 inch PVC pipe to the end of the hose helps you get back in those places easier.
