Do not buy a chainsaw from Lowe’s

Lowe’s failed to cover a 3 year warranty that I purchased, the chain on the saw pops off all the time, it’s made out of plastic and the parts crumble.

It can not be used easily

It sucks

I've had this chain saw for about 9 months. I've used it 2 times the second time the chain came off. I have bought 2 new chains and a new bar, and it will not hold the chain I've had 2 different people look at it and they have no idea so all that being said I have 600$ in a paper weight. I'll never buy another husqvarna again.

Very Good Saw

After owning a Stihl 290 Farm Boss for over 22 years, it was time for a new saw. This 450 Rancher has really been a good one. I've read reviews complaining about the chain coming off. I tighten the lone nut as tight as I can and have never had a problem. This saw goes through 20" oak logs like a hot knife through butter.

don't buy and Lowes has terrible customer service

Within an hour of using it, really after a few cuts the chain came off and was too damaged to use. Went and bought another chain and the same thing happened almost immediately. Yes, the tension was correct. Took it back to lowes to return less than 24 hours of buying it and they wouldn't let me return it. I have had it for less than 24 hours and have a chainsaw that doesn't work and Lowes customer service was terrible!

Everyone needs one. best bang for your buck.

I decided to try the Rancher only six months after the day that I used it only to find out that the throttle doesn't work. Tried to explain to the store that I never never even used it but the clerk told it's been pass thirty days. What a disappointment. Had to ship it off for repairs. Never even used the thing.

Not the Quality I Knew

Good, powerful saw but lacks the robustness and reliability of the 345 I bought and used for 15 years. Overall, appears to have a number of parts that have been cheapened presumably in the name of budget-cutting, especially the clutch cover and the tension adjusting mechanism. Most noticeable problem is a tendency of the saw to lose chain tension and throw the chain after a very short period of cutting, 5 minutes or so. Don’t waste your money.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchase. Worked great for 20 minutes then threw the chain. Can’t get the chain back on the bar. Taking back and getting going to buy a stihl.

Powerful saw but potential design flaw

Bought this saw and was impressed with the power, easy starting, and weight. However, on my third time using, the chain came off hitting the chain guard and destroying the chain drive links. Had to buy another chain. After looking further at reviews I see this is common with this model. I would agree, one bar nut is probably not sufficient.
