Would Not RecommendOur home was built in 1982. This device requires 3 wires. We only have one. It would take rewiring the existing box, drywall repair and painting to use this. So, great for newer construction.

Replacing dimming switch
The switch was the same that I replaced 30 days ago, so I hope this one holds up longer than the last one. It was a bear to install since the original electrician who wired in the switches did so with all black wires - stupid idea. Not sure that I could in good faith recommend this product. Sorry!!

Flimsy switches that beak
Would Not RecommendOne of the switches on this reostat snapped off in less than a year. I replaced withthe same model. The light switch is not very responsive...it only turns on when the sliding switch is set at least 80% of the maximum setting.

Mid priced Low quality
Would Not RecommendThe switches feel poorly constructed and I don’t think they will last for a year. The housing for the switch is very large and will take up most of the space inside a standard single switch box, not allowing space for additional wires.

Poor Quality
Would Not RecommendOpened package and went to slide swiches but they would not slide. I tried to move the light control slide and it came off! Poor Quality. Ended up throwing it out as I was unable to repair it. One star because rating required it.

Decent product, but has a design flaw
Would Not RecommendThis unit was fairly easy to install, and does a nice job on the ceiling fan in our office room. However, it has a major design flaw that does not affect the unit's operation, but does make it less attractive. For some reason the item has the ground wire attached to the front of the device. All other electrical wires exit from the back of the unit. Because the ground wire is in the front, you cannot tighten down the cover plate flush with the base. Bought this for a fan that is controlled by one switch. This product is capable of controlling both the light and fan speed on one switch. The difficulty is finding the fourth wire in the junction box.
