Overheated Switch
Would Not RecommendWorked for a number of years; however, yesterday the switch failed to shut off the ceiling fan light. Worse was that the switch overheated and the house filled with a burnt electrical smell. Good thing we were home as I would be afraid if the switch got much hotter, it could catch on fire.

Would RecommendThis was easy to swap out for another fan control we had that didn't match the new white trim once we repainted the room. Just unhooked the old unit and hooked up this one. It took a lot of effort to get the new one back in the electrical box, and I'm not sure whether this unit takes up more space than the old unit, but you may want to consider that. Does not work
I installed this at my fan control and it doesn't work like it's suppose to. I have to turn on light or fan for one or the other to work. I cant get one to work without the other. I'll be return this thing and get one with a wireless remote control because that's what I have on my other ceiling fans and they work perfectly.

Would Not RecommendDon't buy this, it won't fit properly in either a plastic or metal box. Amazed Lowe's carries this because it's so bad. Your install will look terrible. 1). Ground wire is soldered at the same height as mounting screw so it *can't* be flat/flush. 2). Heat disperser is too thick to use with any cover other than the one it comes with (so can't use it in a multi switch box). 3). Heat disperser is slightly longer than the height of a standard wall case -it won't fit properly. I'm an electrician...

Poor Quality Feels Cheap!
Would Not RecommendUnfortunately I already paid our electrician to install 5 of these for 5 Harbor Breeze & 1 Hunter Fan. I really should have read the other review. They are absolutely correct! The assorted switches my electrician installed all glided smoothly and are of much higher quality than these that are not inexpensive but feel cheaply made are terribly rickety & not smooth at all. They work and they are installed nicely so looks like we will have to live with these until those rickety knobs fall out!
Lasted less than 1 Day
Would Not RecommendI bought this switch yesterday, installed it and was worried about it lasting because the switches don't slide easily. Today one of the buttons on the slide popped out, I was able to get it back in and within 5 minutes it fell out again. Tomorrow it's going back and I will be purchasing a better quality switch.
