What Customers Are Saying
The Harvest Organic Raised Bed Soil has received mixed reviews. Many customers found the soil to be well-suited for raised beds, with a good texture, drainage, and organic content that helped their plants thrive. However, some customers reported issues such as the soil containing excessive wood or bark material instead of actual soil, stunted plant growth, and even plant death. While the soil may work well if amended with additional ingredients, it may not be suitable as a standalone growing medium for all plants. Customers are advised to carefully inspect the soil before purchase and be prepared to supplement it as needed.

Buy more then you think
Good soil. May be a few bits you need to toss out but no weeds.

variances from bag to bag / product inconsistent
Would Not Recommend1) can't say it better than jesse (june 21). -very accurate. 2) product is inconsistent from bag to bag. I bought 2 pallets and half of the bags are pretty much just mulch -may grow "big beautiful plants" in a couple seasons and after amending. the other bags were mucky / decomposing mulch. 3) if you're planning on using this season -have a backup plan, or plan on amending heavily with organic material/good compost, and fertilizer. You must add something that will hold the water, as it dries ...
Different than I ecpected
Would RecommendDifferent than I expected. More mulch like than soil, but I guess that is what a raised bed needs. Nothing planted yet, but hope to have plants in ground by tax day.

Good soul amendment
Would RecommendI like the texture of this product as I am trying to add organic matter to my original soil to put in a raised bed. I gave it 4 stars only because I haven't tried growing in it (I dont know if it improves water retention or allows soil to recompact). Everyone needs to bare in mind that this product contains peat moss which creates a more acidic environment and soil pH should be checked prior to planting. Also, I plan on using a 10-10-10 fertilizer or an organic fertilizer as I usually do duri...

Affordable raised bed soil
Would RecommendCheapest raised bed soil I could find locally. This stuff drains well and my veggies seem to like it. It doesn't have other random filler debris (trash/plastic) like I have found miraclegro to sometimes contain.

Great Garden Soil For The Price
Would RecommendGreat garden soil option for the price. The soil is fluffy, yet dense and substantial. And as silly as this May be: the plastic used to in the packaging is of a quality that does not rip too easily as many others! The 2 cubic ft bag also seems much easier to carry or lug around. Maybe it’s the plastic? Maybe it’s maybelline?

Don’t buy
Would Not RecommendI read some other reviews after I purchased 20 bags of this soil and I didn’t believe the bad reviews. Boy was I wrong! The soil looked fine, but almost killed my plants. Luckily I realized what was happening and added good compost and saved my garden. Save your time and money and buy anything else.
Skip this one! Really doesn’t even look like soil
This looks like a mulch chipped up further, probably last years mulch with a better price tag. Smells like manure too. This could be useful as a top dressing that would break down and feed your plants later. Better skip for miracle gro if you actually want to grow your veggies. I bought with the intention of mixing but boy would I be dissatisfied if I didn’t.
Don"t buy. Nothing grows.
Would Not RecommendLooking forward to my best garden ever with two new raised beds. Purchased 24 bags of this organic soil and noticed many large chunks of wood without much soil. Still proceeded with confidence. Nothing will grow in this soil. Seeds germinate and are stunted with yellow leaves. Transplanted vegetables just sit there while leaves turn yellow. Even flowers will not grow. What a waste of money and time.
KILLS PLANTS
Would Not RecommendFrom sunflowers, to wildflowers, to seedlings, to seeds - nothing grows and the plant starters for a vegetable garden have all died. Bought 24 bags in total. All the work I did for my front and back yard gardens was for nothing.
Leave it!
Would Not RecommendEverything we planted in the ground flourished, everything (literally everything) we planted in this yellowed due to nutrient deficiency. Two separate garden boxes RUINED with this product. Never had so much trouble.
New lasagna beds
First year using lasagna beds and plants are growing well. Next year with an extra layer of compost they should be growing even better.

Killed my tomatoes
Would Not RecommendLots of organic content - the flies really like it, but within a week, all of the tomatoes I planted in it are dead. Pepper plants seem to be doing OK. It is not really very well drained. I don’t plan on using it again as a straight planting medium. It may be ok if blended in with other soils as an amendment.
