What Customers Are Saying
The Harvest Organic Raised Bed Soil has received mixed reviews. Many customers found the soil to be well-suited for raised beds, with a good texture, drainage, and organic content that helped their plants thrive. However, some customers reported issues such as the soil containing excessive wood or bark material instead of actual soil, stunted plant growth, and even plant death. While the soil may work well if amended with additional ingredients, it may not be suitable as a standalone growing medium for all plants. Customers are advised to carefully inspect the soil before purchase and be prepared to supplement it as needed.

Would Not RecommendSeeds sprouted but didn't advance over weeks. Soil got super hard packed. Lots of wood!! Doesnt appear to have many nutrients so unless you are mixing this heavily with other soils....It didn't work for me even mixed with a good organic fertilizer.
Fungus Gnats
Would Not RecommendFirst, I was concerned that the amount of soil in the bag was not 2 cubic feet and after filling my grow bags to put in my elevated garden, it definitely wasn’t. Now, I’m concerned about the aphids and fungus gnats all of my plants have developed since using this soil. The aphids seem to be almost gone after using insecticide soap but the gnats are still a problem and I’m hoping they don’t kill all of my garden. I do not recommend this soil.
The title says "soil" which is debatable.
Like most "soil" sold in bags, this is predominately ground-up wood and bark. It seems ok to fill a volume and provide a matrix for plants to grow in. It holds water and does not settle. However it does not seem to provide much in the way of food for the plants. I mixed it with some composted cow manure and garden compost. The plants are staying green and are growing.

Don't waste your money
Would Not RecommendThis is the worst soil I've ever worked with. You need to add a ton to it to actually make it healthy. Go to an actual garden center with good soil, everything Lowes carries is crap. Waste of $70 for 7 bags, feel sorry for the people who bought way more than that.
Too much Wood fiber
Would Not RecommendThis needed to compost for a few more months and have some more clay minerals added for stability.
As described.
Would RecommendA bit pricey, as is most good soil. But it is perfect for layering in our raised garden beds.

Harvest organics - Raised Red Mix
Would RecommendIn previous years, used another big name mix which I found had a lot of filler and material I could not identify in it. I chose this Raised Bed Mix exclusively for this years garden because of the organics, price and just trust Lowes. I use 4 each "Frame It All" 4'x4', 3 compartment, two tiered raised beds (purchased from Lowes). Filling these requires many, many bags of mix. The Harvest bags filling planter # 1 were very wet, heavy and emitted an off oder. I planted my cold tolerant veggies...
