What Customers Are Saying
The Grip-Rite deck screws have a mixed quality. Many users praise the screws' durability, corrosion resistance, and self-tapping design that makes them easy to drive. The Torx/star drive head is also appreciated as it is less prone to stripping compared to Phillips heads. However, a significant number of customers report issues with the updated thread design, stating that the screws strip out easily, especially when screwing parallel to the wood grain. Users also find the screws do not grip or hold the wood well, and the threads tend to clog with wood fibers. Some customers recommend exploring alternative brands or reverting to the previous Grip-Rite screw design.

Would RecommendScrew bit comes in the box. Lots of bite, easy to drive screw, a little expensive.
Screws Out Perform Standard Phillips Head
Would Not RecommendI am half way though installing a new deck and have had no issues with these screws. They go in with no issues. There is about the same splitting as is I had pre-drilled. They blend in with the PT wood.
Never use nails on a deck.
Would RecommendThese screws take a little more time but they will not back out like nails do. If you want a sturdy deck pier or screened in porch make the best of your time and use screws. HRM

STAR DRIVE SCREWS, THE ONLY WAY TO GO
Would RecommendNO STRIPING THE HEADS, WORKED GREAT WHEN PUTING DOWN MY 2X6 DECKING. I CHANGED FROM PHILIPS AND SQUARE SCREWS AWHILE AGO. DONT LIKE ANY OTHER SCREW
The 25# box is the best value.
Would RecommendYou essentially get 5 pounds free. The only complaint is it only comes with one "free" torx head. After you screw 25 pounds of screws in, the free bit is worn to a nub! Should come with three of them.
Very useful for installation of treated wood
Would RecommendI have used several deck screws and by the end of the day I strip out more than I set in. I would highly recommend the star T25 deck screw. It sets itself and is very simple to remove. It you plan on removing the screws after a short period, fill them will a silicon. If you get dirt are a heavy coating into the star portion of the screw it becomes very difficult to get it cleaned out to remove. This is one of the best screws for beginners to experienced carpenters. Highly recommend.
Star head is much better than phillips.
Would RecommendThe star head was much easier to drive than the phillips heads that I alway used in the past. The Ridgid impact driver make quick work of driving the screws.
Easy to use even by a women
Would RecommendBuilding a 850 sq ft deck and both users found it easy to handle and screw into pressure treated wood
Great screws..
Would RecommendThese are some great screws here. I shot about 1000 of them and did not have any hick-ups at all. Not even 1 screw got thrown away!

these screws work like magic easy start fast screw
Would RecommendI bought these screws from the local Lowes store and I think they are great.
25 lbs of screws / 1 star point driver
Would RecommendExcellent product, Lowes shipped free and fast. One minor complaint, 25 lbs of screws is a lot of screws to drive and the manufacturer "threw in" just one star bit. Fortunately I picked up a few extras from Lowes before I left the store!
