Squirrels figured it out on day 1

I really wanted this feeder to work. Unfortunately, the squirrels figured out a way around the weight bar right after we put it up. We even had multiple squirrels on the feeder at once

It took four days for the squirrels defeat it

The feeder is pretty, has a lot of capacity, and is well-made. Unfortunately, all the squirrels have to do to raid this feeder is hang upside down and reach into the openings to eat the seed. So far, the squirrels haven't been able to crowd onto it, set it swinging to spill all the seed onto the ground. Yet. I'm going to get a baffle to add to this to see if that will deter the fuzzy friends who already have feeding stations on our property.

It lasted less than a day before the squirrels figured out if they tilted it enough, they could pour out all the seed. Outside of being pretty and sturdy, I wouldn't bother.

Birds Will NOT Use!

I saw reviews complaining about the rust on the copper, so I sprayed a clear coat protection over it. A few layers after each one dried. Well that's not the biggest problem. Ever since I got the bird feeder. The birds go on it. They take a seed but it's just too much work for them. I don't know but they will not eat out of it. Our squirrels love this feeder

This is a beautiful bird feeder, we love the look of the grey and copper. Also the mechanism to prevent heavy critters from getting any seeds was very intriguing - unfortunately our squirrels seems to be too smart for it and just hang upside down from the roof of the feeder and grab the seeds from the tray without touching the mechanism that would close the feeder. 4 stars for looks of the feeder & entertainment of watching squirrel acrobatics

Beautiful Farmhouse Style Feeder

This is a beautiful feeder. I set the tension to the middle setting recommended for lighter weight birds and in hopes of keeping the squirrels out. Unfortunately, the squirrels were still able to get the food out and cleaned my feeder out completely within 48 hours.

I thought the birdfeeder looked very nice, and was of good quality. However, there were no birds that would use it. It’s very hard for them to get to the food.

Not as good as it looks

I really expected what they said that this bird feeder was squirrel resistant. It is not squirrel resistant. If a squirrel can get near it they can happily eat their fill. The bird feeder looked to be a quality product and had the price tag of a high quality product ($42). Seemed like a good idea but……

I hung this feeder Friday afternoon. Saturday morning the squirrels had it figured out. For the cost, I expected it to work better. I do like the look of it.

Difficult to Clean

We were hoping to have a feeder that we could ignore for a few weeks at a time, but the feed gets wet at the feeding ports causing the bird not to eat it. It gets moldy and we have to start over. Nice idea, but fails in practice. Also, squirrels have figured out how to get at the food. Clever little creatures.

Everything about this bird feeder is beautiful. Well made.

Don’t purchase

Would recommend not buying, materials very thin, cheaply made. Thin metal lock, that is supposed to lock top of feeder to the feed storage area doesn’t engage and the metal is so thin that I can anticipate it breaking soon.
