What Customers Are Saying
The product is generally viewed as ineffective at deterring squirrels, despite its claims. Many customers report that squirrels were able to access the seed through various methods. While some found the feeder attractive, the consensus is that it does not live up to its "squirrel-resistant" marketing. The feeder seems to work well for attracting birds, but the inability to keep squirrels out is a major drawback for most reviewers.

National Audubon Society Steel Hanging Squirrel-R
Would RecommendI purchased this birdfeeder in hopes of finally finding a birdfeeder that kept the squirrels from tipping it over. The seed goes in through the roof and then the roof latches to the body of the birdfeeder, which was a great asset. Unfortunately, the squirrels in my yard apparently have an engineering degree. They were able to unlatch the roof, open it and tip the whole birdfeeder over. I then went to the hardware store to make some modifications to the birdfeeder as I have bought several feed...
Squirrel resistant but birds don’t feed either
Would Not RecommendMy previous feeder was loaded with birds and a pesky squirrel knocking all the food on the ground. Gave this one a try because it’s supposed to be squirrel resistant, which it is. The problem is the birds do not want to eat from it. Don’t know why, they just don’t. Have it set at heaviest setting so even doves can feed, but they just don’t.

Definitely Squirrel Proof, Not for Larger Birds
Would RecommendIt is nice that it is squirrel resistant. My pesky squirrel tried hanging upside down from the roof to the hopper stand, but found no seed available as he closed it. That said, the feeder is a little smaller than I would like. Needs to be a little wider for multiple bird access. The blackbirds and doves really don't like it much. This feeder is for smaller birds. It does, however, keep the seed much dryer than any other bird feeder I've had from the rains here in SW Florida due to the desi...

Definitely not Squirrel At All
Would Not RecommendPretty feeder but wont keep any squirrels out at all. They csn eat from the feeder part and get the top open. Worst squirrel proof feeder.
Very nice feeder, but not squirrel-proof
Looks very nice, very sturdy hanging bracket (not flimsy wire that squirrels can chew through), birds all like it once they got used to it—stops them from flinging seeds. Not squirrel-proof though—in about 1.5 hours, squirrels figured out that they could hang from the roof and eat the seeds, so I had to use hot sauce on seeds anyway. If you just want a very nice feeder, this is great, if you want squirrel-proof, not so much.

Not for sunflower seeds.
Would Not RecommendSunflower seeds do not flow from the bin to the bottom trays. Until you go shake it. Once the birds eat what’s available, they have nothing.
Easy to service and birds appear to love it.

Try it you will like it.
Would Recommendvery elegant and it goes with the decor of the house. It did not take long for the birdies to start feeding . Quite effective against the number one nemesis/squirrels
