What Customers Are Saying

The Troy Jump Starter is a cordless, rechargeable device that makes it easier to start various gas-powered lawn and garden equipment. Many users find it convenient and helpful, especially those with physical limitations. However, some customers have experienced quality and reliability issues, with the starter failing to work after a few uses. Concerns have been raised about the product's durability and longevity. While the concept is praised, the execution appears inconsistent, and an extended warranty may be advisable.

Bought this because the pull starter on my weed eater doesn't work. Brought it home, charged it up, used it about 3 or 4 months, wanted to recharge it. It didn't show a charge light. Returned it to Lowe's. They replaced it. Took that one home, charged it up, used it the rest of the season, and part of this season up until first part of August 2016. Unit is dead, will not take a charge. Talked to Troy-Bilt about the problem...they're sending me another one. Two in a row that only charged ...

I'm not happy

Would Not Recommend

When I purchased my Troy Built weed trimmer, with the extended pole tree trimmer, garden tiller and this Troy built jump starter all at the same time. The Frist jump starter would not hold the charge, after a full charge it worked twice then it was out of power so I returned it. The new one was fully charger it worked for over a month then it would not hold a charge again. For me to exchange this one it's a two hour drive just like the first time. So now I have a useless piece of equipment. The ...

A very good purchase

The Jump-Start is a product that is worth having to help start your equipment instead of having top pull the rope to crank it up.I would recommend it to any one.

Won't engage trimmer motor

Would Not Recommend

Bought mine in June 2013, along with a Troy-Bilt TB22 EC trimmer. Worked fine -- twice. Jump Start would just spin, would not engage the motor. Bought a new TB32 EC in May 2016, tried the Jump Start - with same results. Returned TB32 EC as defective, but no longer carried by Lowe's. Exchanged for a TB35 EC. Just took it out of the box, assembled and prepped it, engaged the Jump Start - would not turn motor.

Serious Manufacturing Problem

Would Not Recommend

This is a great idea, however there are serious manufacturing problems with the product. Today, I finally read the feedback on this website on the product and found that many have had switch problems (or they will soon have switch problems). The product reviews clearly show a problem. I have had two units. The first failed. I called Troy Bilt and the technician told me (while on the phone) to take it apart. I did and found the switch was designed in a way that it was not making contact to ene...

Overpriced

Would Not Recommend

I will be honest that I have not used this yet. However I purchased a new weedwacker and blower that were a hard start so I thought I needed to purchase one of these. Doesn't seem right that it would cost around $50
