Digital temperature meter

The meter is very accurate and easy to use. I bought it to check my hvac vents temperature. It worked great. It’s interesting to check temperatures from air to stove top temperatures.

Not even close to accurate.

Consistently ten degrees off. Told be a bottle of water was 20 degrees. Seemed to think my AC was putting out 45 degree air in Alabama in July. Will return promptly.

Works great

Had ac duct issues and this had the offending ducts identified in minutes.

can't measure metal

doesn't work when taking temp of metal. worthless, don't buy.

Esential tool.

Some people think this is just a shop tool but one belongs in every kitchen. Fast response lets you know if you will simmer or burn the food. I use it for checking grills and griddles. It's a lot easier and less painful than using a finger.

Worked fine.

Used it to calibrate a heat press from room temp up to 400 degrees F. It worked fine.

Steer Clear

Bought unit and had innacurate recordings from the start. Messured against 3 other devices, if which all 3 recorded the same temp. Took back to Lowes and the guy at returns was a total jerk.

The unit work fine for about 5 minutes. Then failed to give accurate temperature. I'll be returning.

product is OK, but when encountering an "unreadable" temperature, readings afterwards are way off and unreliable. There is no way to make adjustments or corrections, i.e. boiling water should read 212 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 degrees Celsius but it reads, for me, less than those temperatures which are not within the 1.8 plus or minus listed for error range. For the price, less than half of what some others are it's good enough — for the price.

False confidence

Purchased this gun thinking it would come in handy, I've had it for about 6 months and finally needed it! Got it out of the drawer it's sat in and got a reading that seemed very high, double checked it with an old standard style, then did the calibration test with ice water, sure enough it was 8°-10° high. With no way to calibrate it all I can do is hope I find my 1 Lowe's receipt from 6-7 months ago and then they'll actually do something maybe. Basically forget the gun or get a better brand. Ho...

Temps are up to 10* off, not what I was looking for. Returned for full credit.

Easy to use

I used it to measure brake rotor temperatures. Seems to work well. Not sure of accuracy. Playing with the laser was really fun.

Not quite

Quick and easy to use. The problem is, it’s just not accurate. I measured various surfaces in a single room in my house and they ranged from 59 to 72 degrees F. Outdoors on a 21 degree morning, readings ranged from -2 to 24 degrees — and not correlated with sun exposure or local microclimate. Boiling water read 222-231 deg, water-ice slush 40. Really would have liked it to work but this one’s going back.

Room Temperature

I live in the Northeast, in my truck it gets cold during the winter months. Until this digital Temperature Meter gets room temperature, it will not read correctly. Works great as long as you know this fact.

Inconsistent

Took readings in my house and it looked promising at first read 73 next to a thermometer reading 71. 10 minutes later it read 82 degrees. Five minutes after that it read 50 degrees. This was measuring the exact same object directly next to the indoor temperature unit of a weather station. I would rate have a unit that is consistently off 10 degrees than one that is inconsistent.

Works great

I mainly bought this for use with my reptiles, tested it against another more accurate thermometer and my herpstat, and it's accurate to .2 degrees.
