What Customers Are Saying
The product received mixed reviews regarding its features and quality. Would RecommendI bought this for checking equipment temps for my work. The accuracy is 95%, close enough for me. Used around the house to see drafts to hold in the heat in the winter and visa versa in the summer. I'd buy again if needed elsewhere.
Can't be beat for the price
Would RecommendMeasuring instruments should be rated primarily on accuracy and precision. Accuracy is the ability to correctly and closely represent the true measurement and precision is how repeatable the results are. I do not have proper temperature calibration tools, but when it was aimed at a just-melting ice cube, the temp showed between 0 and 1 deg C over 10 trials within 2 ft. When pointed at boiling water, it showed between 99 and 101 deg C over 10 trials within 2 ft. Boiling point can vary with local ...

Great Value
Would RecommendA similar Raytek infrared thrmometer cost me $100 10 years ago. It stopped working last year. It is nice to have a tool like this to take remote temperature reading, AC vent check on car or house.
Great price, great quality
Would RecommendOrdered this today online and picked-up at our local Lowes. $9.90 ? Are you kidding me? This thing is worth 5-10 more---at least! I checked it for accuracy against my buddy's Fluke---at 75 degrees (F) it was spot on, at 100, it was spot on. At 120(Fluke), the General wavered between 120 and 121. At 220 degrees on the Fluke, the General read 222. Good enough for me! My buddy is an HVAC installer and he was VERY impressed with the quality of the General. He said his Fluke cost him over $350. I'm h...
great price, temperatures inaccurate tho
Would Recommendjust bought this thing today. was measuring some things around my house, in a controlled temperature of 74 degrees, it read approximately 80. the instructions clearly state that the temperature may be off by +/- 2 degrees celsius, which is relatively accurate. however measuring my refrigerator, it had readings upwards at 55 degrees, which by all means is highly inaccurate. overall tho this product will meet my needs, and the auto power down and laser light and awesome additions. would recommend ...
Great comsumer product
Would RecommendWorks great right out of the box. Ideal for home owners, temp reading is right on. Instructions good be more detailed, but easy enough to figure out. Plan to buy a couple more for gifts.
Great value and gets the job done !
Would RecommendI needed something to measure temperature is some telecom closets at work and found this online. I found another brand that was cheaper but the reviews stated that several users had to send theirs back because of erroneous readings. I opened mine up as soon as I got in the car and shined it on the a/c vent that was spewing out very cold air and it read 47 degrees. I went to Starbucks and got a coffee...it measured 137 degrees. When I got home I opened up the hood to my vehicle and measured the e...
