Pure Junk!

Pick this up from the clearance isle and tested it as soon as I got home. First test was to simply check the kitchen counter- It read 91- The house is a comfortable 68. Tried the refrigerator- internal thermomenter shows 42, Infrared tool showed 71- Tried it directly on the Ice cubes in the Freeze 66. A cat laser toy and guessing the temp would be more accurate than this piece of junk-- Purchased today, being returned today.

Works great and very accurate. Not bad for the price!

Not accurate

Tested tester in the house with several items. Compared it to the actual temperature of the house. 10 degrees off. I have several thermometers in the house. And the inaccuracy was the tester.

Waiting for weather to change s we can use it testing the waters in natural hot springs in Nevada.

Chinese made garbage.

Cheap and didn’t work. Lowes dropped the ball on carrying this product. Wish they carried only made in USA products.

No need for accuracy!

I like the idea of this unit , but it was off by ten degrees and with no way of recalibrating it, the unit was really no good to me!

Handy

Used to check temp on automotive parts when needed. Also check temp of pool water, hot tub water, pavement. Mostly to satisfy curiosity.

My unit must not have been calibrated

The unit comes w/ a certificate of calibration, well ok, it's a tiny piece of paper saying same but anyway, it says calibrated. Apparently mine was not. It had our AC (home) at 61 degrees [at the vent], the fridge at 25, the freezer colder still and that wasn't even what I bought it for. I bought it to check on the engine temps in my sports car. I went to General's "contact us" form asking about calibration... almost a week ago, no reply. So, took it back. Defective unit? Hidden trick for c...

Not accurate

New out of the package. Not accurate, off by 10+ degrees. Returned for refund.

Not calibrated correctly

Brand new out of the package and temperature is at least 10° cooler on everything I tested. Returned immediately.

Works, but flawed

The quality is mixed, the shell is ABS plastic so it's kinda sturdy, but it's poorly put together with large gaps between the shell plates allowing for dust, moisture, and otherthings to corrod the 9V. The 9V fits too loose so it constantly shakes around, I suggest putting ~1/8 inch (4mm) foam tape or something on the door side if you have to carry this around all day. You can turn on and off the red targeting laser which is nice, but the screen will always light up when the trigger is pulled. T...

Works just fine

I bought this a couple years ago to check engine temps on my project car before I finally installed an oil temp gauge (very old car). It reads within about 5 degree's of what the oil temp gauge tells me so I think it's pretty accurate. It's nice that you can flip between infrared and the lazer pointer. Trying it around the house too, the temps are quite similar to what we have the thermostat set at, within a couple degrees. I have tried to see if it will read temps on a human and it usually hits...

Not useful for taking someone's temperature

Bought a few of these to take temperature of employees to check for fever due to COVID-19. Basically useless. 3 units reading identical areas had variances of 5 degrees F. Will keep them for factory use but....DO NOT purchase these and expect to use for human temperature readings.
