Love my Inreach

I love my Inreach Mini 2 for offshore fishing and backcountry hunting. It is a game changer as far as being able to check in with family offshore or in the mountains and gives everyone peace of mind. The only thing I with it had was the ability to write messages on the unit itself without having to use the cellphone app.

Solid and Dependable Device

I purchased this three weeks ago. I am a solo hiker, and I wanted something that makes me feel confident that I can reach out for help if I need to. The mini 2 easily meets this need. There is a bit of a steep learning curve for the Mini 2, or maybe it is just me. I am glad I bought it and practiced with it 2 weeks before heading to the Grand Canyon. Peace of mind for me and the people back home

I bought this about a month ago, as I was embarking on a roadtrip through several states and national parks where I figured service would be spotty at best, and more likely non-existent. Being able to send a quick "here's where I'm camping tonight" message to a couple of people back home gave me so much peace of mind, as did being able to communicate what hikes I was doing - and receive relevant information about park shutdowns as well. I have only had the opportunity to use this once for tracking purposes but so far I am enjoying knowing that if something were to happen while in the backcountry help easily with inReach. I bought this for my daughter. She's planning a trip to Thailand and thought this would be a great piece of equipment to have there or anywhere she hikes. Done the CT and Tetons.

Great Tool - Peace of Mind

I have used this on one trip and it proved to be very useful. First my weather app was wrong but the weather on the garmin was a lot closer to accurate, I also had some Navigation issues on forest roads where google Maps was useless bc no service. I am considering upgrading my plan because the texting is a lot easier than pointing my phone at a satellite when I am trying to relax at camp but want to check in with my wife.

This thing probably saved my life

I bought this just as a little insurance for a hike in the Tetons (ave. elevation for us was about 9500ft). By the second day of the hike, Altitude Sickness was overcoming me soooo I pushed the SOS button and heard those little activation beeps. The SAR helo crew arrived and took us down. Those guys were awesome. The head of the SAR said the precise coordinates made it easy to formulate and execute the extraction. All I can say is Thank you.

The interface is very user-friendly, and importing maps onto the device is convenient. I was also able to use third-party software to map out a hike. The Mini 2 is a great device. Garmin Express on the Mac is a disaster. It is unbelievably SLOW! Please revise the application

What price can you put of the ability to be rescued in the backcountry? A must have for any adventures off the beaten path or solo!

Fantastic

Bought for elk scouting trip to SE Wyo Was able to keep family and friends aware of our location and situation while in SOS coverage area 100 percent of our 3 day backwoods outing. Fairly easy to setup and use. Had a new iPhone 16 plus to compare for SOS texting. The mini2 worked 100% where the iPhone was hit or miss Will never leave home without in reach mini2 again

I used this for multiple solo hikes in the mountains. I could keep in touch with my family no matter where I was and was able to give them peace of mind that I was safe.

Light and Handy

Great way to stay connected for live tracking and messaging. Lots of people are saying the iPhone satellite feature has killed these types of devices but if you're used to long adventures in tough conditions, you know how hard it is to keep devices, especially phones, charged when doing live tracking and messaging requiring higher power. Nice compact size

Recieved the InReach Mini 2 as a birthday gift as I occasionally go out into the woods alone and family wanted a way to know my location as cell phone service can be sketchy. My bigest compaint was that there were very limited instructions on how to set up a subscription on the device. After going on line and seeing comments by other users, I finally got it resolved.

I used this on a weeklong solo-hike along the Suwannee River section of the Florida Trail. I appreciated having the ability to communicate with loved ones while hiking in areas without a cell service. My family and friends enjoyed keeping track of me with the live map feature.
