Lights get very hot

The lights are extremely hot within seconds of being plugged In. I felt so uncomfortable by how hot they were to leave them on for very long. Seems like a big fire hazard.

BURNING HOT

bought 2 strings of lights last year for our tree and they worked great but they get incredibly hot. this year we plugged them up and almost half of the bulbs are already burnt out on both strings. not worth the money if they've gotta be replaced yearly.

China Junk

Bought 5 boxes early November to replace outdoor house lights, turn on for a few seconds fuse blew. Don't buy don't waste your money. I don't have most of the boxes so now I don't think I can even return to get my money back.

Junk!!

Just like every other 1 star review, these are junk. Plug it in and the fuse immediately blows. This happen in two sets.

Nostalgic look

Love these nostalgic lights! It's convenient that you can replace broken or burnt out bulbs. Not as energy efficient as LED but you can't beat the look.

Old Time Glow

While many are converting to LED lighting for substantial power savings, the LED devices sold at Lowes do not replicate the legacy incandescent experience with it's warm glow. At 7 watts a bulb, expect 175 watts a strand and the ability to string only two strands together (per package). Usable length is closer to 15ft. I wish the orange bulb was more amber, but the colors do provide a nostalgic experience. Recommend using for smaller displays.

Just like grandma’s, LEDs are just not cozy

Old school charm, reminded my wife of her grandmothers, cozy warmth and they do not get hot even after being on for hours. Nice colors on big bulbs. No breaks or burnouts yet!

Not good for multiple strands

You cannot plug in more then 3 strands together without always blowing fuses.

Incandescent Lights Warm Plants During Winter

I am relieved to have found the solution to warm up several of the succulent plants I have planted in my NC yard. The incandescent feature provides the extra heating element and this string is sturdy for outside use. Care must be taken to not drop the bulbs on a hard surface but the replacement bulbs available will cover any mistakes. Thank-you Lowes!

I’ve had these on my porch for about three weeks, and they look absolutely beautiful. They are just like the retro lights I was dreaming of. Unfortunately two of the bulbs have already burnt out. Love these lights just wish they were better quality I guess.

Needs a different string

Decent quality all around, but the string limits their usefulness. Socket spacing is 8”. Back in the day 12” was the standard spacing and 15 or 18” spacing between sockets wasn’t uncommon for strings meant for outdoors. So rather than a 25 to 37 foot string, you have a 16 foot one. And since they’ve installed a 5 amp fuse, you’re limited to connecting just two strings. Do some searching online if you need 50 or 100 feet of coverage, there are modern strings with fuses that can handle 8 or more a...
