Rewiring heads up!

Great replacement for conventional fluorescent bulbs - HOWEVER - read the back of the box - you MUST REWIRE the traditional shop light. It's really easy - just bypass the ballast- making each end separate (one end hot, the other end neutral). Despite two prongs at each end - they are actually connected together.

The product was recommended by Lowes, but after getting it home the instructions said that an inline fuse should be installed and not wired direct. After more than 2 hours of research I never did find out if that is true or not! Lowes salesman, said, "he had never heard of that." He recommended I buy a 20amp fuse from their automotive section, but I finally found out it needs to be a 1amp fuse and I could never find one anywhere. Direct wire means no ballast required

A great replacement for old florescent tubes. Pretty easy to by-pass the ballast with wire cutters, wire strippers and push-in wire connectors. Install the LED's tubes with the switch facing down. Turn on the light switch and wow, the difference is amazing.

Easy - but

Easy to install, just remove the ballast and connect the hot to one end of the tube and tne neutral to the other. Did not like the wiring diagram showing a fuse, if this is necessary one should be provided. No sticker provided to advise others "no ballast lamps" only.
