Would Not RecommendWe just moved into our house, and less than one month later the door will not lock and begin a cycle. The accompanying GE dryer is on the fritz as well--it will start drying, then simply turn off after a minute or two. I am super underwhelmed with both the GE washer and dryer.

Not the GE reliability we'd been sold on
Would Not RecommendAfer a few years of regular use, the unit had problems with mouldy water accumulating around the drainage well at the front of the drum, requiring constant cleaning and manual drainage. Now, after less than a decade of family use, the primary axle on the drum has broken. Parts and labour would cost considerably more than a new machine. I guess that's the world we live in now, but it's not what I expected from GE.

A solid product for 7 years, then dead
We used this washer without any malfunctions for seven years and hoped it would continue as we are always careful not to overload it, we clean the drain hose regularly, and keep the machine clean. However, the drum bearing has broken and the estimate to repair it is way more than to replace the washer ... and since the dryer that's stacked on top of it appears to be incompatible with a replacement washer, looks like we need to go ahead and replace both.

Poorly built
Would Not RecommendDrum broke after 5 years. It’s cheaper to by a new washer than repair this. The problemis GE conveniently doesn’t make a model that is compatible with the dryer that is stacked on top which works fine so i’m faced with buying a washer and dryer. GE has me by the short and curly’s!! I would never by a stackable unit again!! Start making these things to last not be replaced after a couple years.

Door Lock Control Failed +/- 3 years.Cant use it
Would Not RecommendIt's unusable. There are countless web pages and repair sites that identify the door lock control as a defective item. Why isn't this covered in a warranty specific to the defective component? I won't buy GE again unless they step up and handle this.

Great compact washer
Would Not RecommendWe bought this washer and matching dryer to fit in our tiny house. For the most part it works great. Worst part is it gets moldy very quickly. An absolute must is to leave the door and soap dispenser open after use. This is a replacement, the first one gave us trouble with the control panel. Hopefully this will last longer then 2 yrs.

Great compact Washer
Would RecommendInstalled quickly and was able to wash clothes immediately. The washer holds more than our previous washer. Great for our cabin in a compact space. We purchased the stacking kit and the washer and dryer look great together and do not take up much space.
