Simple Upgrade from Nest

I recently replaced my old Nest detector with the First Alert smoke detector, and it was a great choice. The best part is that it fits perfectly on the existing Nest mounting bracket, which made the swap quick and easy—especially since Nest no longer makes their detectors. It feels solid, was simple to install, and gives reliable peace of mind. Definitely a smart replacement option.

Great little smoke detector.

These are pretty good smoke detectors. We were sent a bunch to test, and only one didn’t immediately pair upon testing. The instructions were very clear to install, and they work with the battery-only operated versions of the same product. The smart functionality works well. Have had no false alarms.

Great Nest connect feature

I used these units to replace my three (3) existing combination smoke / CO2 detectors. They were easy to install . The best feature is they connect to my existing Nest system . I’m hoping I never have to use them for their intended purpose but it’s a great comfort to know that they are on guard 24/7 .

Nest Replacement but not Equivalent

I was very happy to have a CO-smoke detector that works with the rest of my Nest/Google Home system, but I do miss the way-finder light (also signifying unit status). Easy to replace using the existing Nest mount and Google Home software.

Easy Google Home integration

Setup was easy with the FirstAlert app, then it synced right up with the Google Home app. All 3 of the detectors I installed are wirelessly synced with my other smart devices, and each other.

I liked that it’s hardwired with battery backup, so it stays powered even if the electricity goes out. The photoelectric sensor seems less prone to false alarms from cooking compared to older ionization models. The interconnected feature is a big plus because if one alarm goes off, they all sound, which adds real safety in larger homes. Multiple False Alarms

Like others have said, this product is defective. I bought 2 and both have had false alarms that are difficult to turn off. There was no smoke or heat at all during either of these false alarms and one was at night. We have a new baby at home to a false alarm in the middle of the night is the worst thing in the world because it wakes the baby. I wish I had seen these reviews before purchasing. This is the worst product I've ever bought.

Smart Smoke Alarm and CO2

Decided to place a CO2 detector in the loft outside of all where the kids rooms are. The app made it really easy and since it also connects to the AC thermostats everything can be in the same Ecosystem. Another perk of it being used in conjunction with the app is that if its triggered it notfies you and gives you the option to contact 911. Fit perfectly

Fit perfectly on the existing Nest Protect base. Assigning to the new app and WiFi was effortless. Just wish I didn’t have to use yet another app. Not sure if these run automatic tests like Nest did.
