Loud

This little thing is so small ( third size of a cup) but very loud it's easy mounting fairly sensitive but not overly so as others and as we burn wood for heat a smoke detector is a must have and this can be repositioned if needed

Alert for fire

First Alert is a name you can trust. Love the compact design 1/3 the size of normal detectors. Comes with everything you need to mount by reading the directions it's easy to activate. Will be getting a couple more for bedrooms.

Mighty smoke

This ultra small smoke detector is great to use where concealment is a must. The 10 year battery should minimize the need for regular battery maintenance. Good quality sound also

simple and useful

this fire detector is so small and low profile that i hardly notice it on my wall. its so easy to install as well. i did a test when i first installed it and im confident the alarm is sufficiently loud to alert me if anything ever happens

Small but didn't go off with smoke

Size wise this is great for a small area. Its easy to put together with simply twisting the unit and mounting bracket together. However, I did try to get it to go off by buring some paper and it had quite a bit of smoke and it never sounded. I tried a candle and blew out the smoke and put the alarm in the smoke and it didnt go off. So in assuming it would require a lot of smoke for more than a minute. It did sound when tested so it should work

Very small smoke detector, but one glaring issue

This is a very small smoke detector - barely wider than the 2x8 floor joist that I mounted it to. Instructions are simple... basically mount the base, then put the smoke detector on the base and turn to lock it on (which also activates it). This does not connect to house power - so it will not also activate other connected smoke detectors and vice-versa. It is battery operated only. And this leads into my biggest complaint about it. Easy Installation

I already have trust in First Alert from prior purchases, so I know this is a quality alarm. This model is great for additional installations for more protection. Once you determine a location, the installation is quick and easy, requiring just two screws. Then fit the alarm over the slots and twist clockwise and you are done. The manufacture date is needed for registering the warranty and is stamped on the mounting bracket, so be sure to record that before installation.

Basement/ Workshop Alert

We decided to install this Micro First Alert 10-Year Battery-operated Photoelectric Smoke Detector Model #1046750, in our large basement area. We use space as storage, with a portion used as our DIY household workshop. We have First Alert smoke detectors that are hardwired in our living spaces. Thought it be good idea to install additional alert. Very easy to install, plus it has a 10 year battery with an alert when replacement is needed!

Excellent idea!

Love the smaller size (about 2 1/2 inches in diameter). It looks more like a part of our security system than a smoke detector. Can easily be installed in just a few minutes. And it's very loud! Hope the battery really does last 10 years, or close to it. First Alert has always been my first choice for great products.

Small but mighty

This is small and looks so much nicer on my wall than a traditional style one!! It is very loud. You never have to change the batteries on this which is wonderful. It has a periodic indicator light that lets you know it is working. This was also easy to install.

Nice smoke detector

Very nice smoke detector, small and compact very load and perfect replacement for very old detector. Easy install and looks better than older versions. Just remember it’s a smaller footprint so might have to do a little repair to look nice

Easy installation

This product, smoke detector, arrived on time with not packaging damage. The detector was very easy to install. I did not use the screws and anchors provided, but used two-sided tape to install on the ceiling. The unit is very small, not like the usual smoke detectors which made is easy to install with tape. I cannot say much about the effectiveness of the detector because I have not had smoke to test with it. Thus the "4" rating at this time. But, the test button on the device does work and ...

Smaller size looks better than large units

Absolutely love the small size. Easy install. Loud sound. Installed in basement near furnace and gas water heater. Now I need a few more for areas in house.

Small but mighty!

I’ve needed a replacement smoke detector for some time since I took down the old one that I constantly had to replace the battery on and was a pain to silence anytime I cooked. This one is the perfect replacement. Its small size makes it barely noticeable. Easy installation. A convenient button for easy silencing. No more waving the kitchen towel until the alarm stops. And best thing, no more having to replace batteries! Super-long lasting internal battery. 10yrs! Great buy!

Convenient smaller size and simple installation

Installation was easy, and smaller size is convenient to locate. Button tester works well, (as loud as larger size) and I also did an actual smoke test to be able to give an honest review. Functions well as advertised, out-of-the-box.

Hopefully never need it

Micro and Mighty

I wanted to try out the micro size smoke detector. What I like about the micro size is that it’s small, compact, and appears to be less noticeable. After testing the smoke detector the alarm is as loud as a normal size detector. Unfortunately after a few hours of installation the unit it started to chirp once every minute in the middle of the night. The next day I found out from the manual that the unit had a bad battery. Great improvement in smoke alarms..

I love the new micro premium smoke alarm from First Alert. The very small size is great, light and easy to install. I love that it has a ten year battery installed so i never have to worry about remembering to change batteries are listen to annoying beeps. I am installing this in my guest bedroom and will be replacing all my old alarms when the batteries need replacing with these new micro alarms.
