I wanted to try this Humidity Sensor in the guest/kid’s bathroom. Because it will save me on electricity due to the Auto on Auto off feature. The instructions were easy to follow and Make Sure to Program before testing. I installed in less than 30 minuate, I ran the shower, reset my program to 3. The video is the test, I did not record to auto off.

Works great in my small laundry room

Easy to install, this was a nice upgrade for my small laundry room where the humidity fluctuates with machine usage and we now don't have to remember to turn the fan on and off, wasting energy and exhausting air unnecessarily.

This is a gadget you probably need

I love gadgets, and this is one that's really useful and has actually contributed to marital harmony. It's easy to install (be sure you have access to a neutral wire) and does the job nicely. Plastic bath fan humidity sensor switch Eaton

The Eaton plastic bath fan humidity sensor switch was easily installed in about 30 minutes. You must have a neutral wire for it to work correctly. Setting up the switch was also very easily done. The only thing I didn’t like about the switch was that it took longer for it to get up to speed to remove the humidity from the room, but at least you don’t have to worry about kids not turning on the fan and removing the humidity.

Works great as a standard switch

We installed this sensor hoping it would cut back on the humidity in our bathroom. After a few weeks of several showers, we have had no luck with the sensor in any mode (high, med, and low). The mirror fogs up, and you can see the humidity by the ceiling, but the fan hasn't come on. At this point we are just using it as a new switch since it's already installed. Great addition to the kids bathroom!

If your family is anything like mine, a verbal “TURN OFF THE BATHROOM FAN” is given at least once a day for the kids bathroom. After picking up and installing this fan switch, all of that has come to a wonderful stop. The switch is simple wiring between your feed and the fan itself. Awesome automatic bathroom sensor!

This things pretty easy to install. It even was the same size of my existing trim plate so I didn't need to purchase a new one. Looks great and works great! I've tested it by turning itself on with a hot shower and also by randomly turning it on and checking after 20 minutes if it turned off. It will stay on longer if the humidity threshold isn't met. I would highly recommend this to anyone who often leaves their fan on after showering or even in the laundry room.

The end of mildew

The request for this product was to see if this type of humidity sensor would work better than the type built into the exhaust fan. After setting the fan's humidity sensor to zero and installing this product I was pleasantly surprised at the workings of this switch. I no longer have to be concerned about visiters to this bathroom turning on the exhaust fan. The different humidity settings make it adaptable to most bathroom sizes.

Solves several issues

I have been wanting a product like this for a long time. Humidity control is so important for a healthy home. I’m a retired Indoor Air Quality advocate and know the importance of humidity control. Also the wasted temperature controlled air is also an important factor. This control handles both issues. By automatically shutting down the fan it will save a considerable amount of energy.

Good product with a problem.

This sensor works as it is intended, there are three programmable humidity base levels down to 45%. The sensor was very easy to wire with very good directions. The only problem with this sensor is the hole spacing for the cover plate does not match the standard spacing on all commercially available covers, I had to modify both holes in my cover to get the screws to fit. The sensor has a light in the switch that shows green when the humidity is below threshold and pinkish when above.

Needs Improvements

I'll start with the good - The push button switch works and feels durable. I like that there is a small white light on it when powered and that it turns red when it detects enough humidity and switches the fan on (when in auto-mode....more about that below). I also like that there are 3 pre-sets (low, med & high) for detecting the level of humidity so that it can be adjusted to your liking. A Really Neat Switch to Have

I like to have my bathroom fan on to remove excess humidity while I take a shower. So many times, I've been in the shower, to then realize that I had forgotten to turn the fan on. This humidity sensor switch was the perfect solution to this problem. It's works great!!!

Automatic moisture sensing bathroom fan switch

This switch works best in a smaller bathroom, I installed it in my master bath and found it did not come on automatically. The master bath is almost twice as large as the small bath which is 6 Ft by 8 Ft. The master bath switch was located across the room from the shower and tub, even though the mirrors fogged the fan did not come on at the default setting. It works verry well in the smaller bathroom on the default. If you like automating your home this might be something you would use.

Good Idea

This review is for the Eaton Plastic Bath Fan Humidity Sensor. This is actually a really good idea, considering how often I have to go back and turn off the fan for someone else. I also like that it will turn on the fan when needed. I would have expected the price to be a bit higher, but this one is reasonably priced. I’ve used other Eaton products before and have been very satisfied with the performance and durability.

Humidity is no longer a problem

This was easy to install with the installation instructions given. I was able to make 3 different levels of humidity adjustments according to my personal needs. I installed this in one of my bathrooms. The unit works great and with the manual on-off it was easy to use.

Very good sensor and its working good.

I installed this sensor in my bathroom and its working great. When I forget to turn on fan before taking shower, I notice that this sensor kicks in fan as it senses humidity. Didn’t like it

The fan switch came with everything I needed to install it. It did come on automatically but came on way too much. It has a few settings for humid and I turned it up to it’s highest tolerance. My house humidity was 40% yet this would still come on randomly. There are some lights on the switch that are not explained in the instructions. I ended up removing it because it would come on when it should not have.

Just OK

It is just ok. Installation was easy and programming of it are simple. There are 3 humidity settings , 85% RH, 65%RH, and 45% RH. Maybe it is my shower design (fully enclosed tile shower with glass door that is open on the top to allow steam to escape), but the switch will not turn on the fan until done showering. Tried all three settings and it doesn’t come on when I would like it too. I can physically see moisture in the air and the mirror will be fogged up, but the switch won’t come on u...
