A waste of time and money

Watched the you tube instructional video 3 times, frequently consulted the manual....but no joy. Very frustrating and chews up bits very rapidly....losing several bits as I tried to get it to perform as advertised. Don't other with this. Mine is going back to Lowe's first chance.

Can't beat a shard bit

You can't beat a sharp drill bit and the XP delivers that bit. It may not get the bit to cut thru butter like a hot knife, but does cut thought steel. The XP puts an edge on a drill bit with little effort and time. This may not be the tool for a full time machine shop, but for the price it is just the thing to have for any DIY handy man. "Work smarter not harder" I took an extra minute between holes to touch-up the edge as I was working with 1/4" steel. The XP will save me time and money.

Sharp Drill Bits Again

The tool is easy to use and produces a clean sharp bit. Still very new. Interested to see how long the sharpening stone lasts.

a bit slower than I thought it should be. But it eventually gets there.

Good product - instructions are terrible.

It is obvious that the instruction manual has been seriously reduced in size making the drawings difficult to see. The verbiage in the instructions needs some serious editing. HOWEVER, you can find a very good instruction video on line which is much easier to follow: http://www.drilldoctor.com/how-to-videos Click on your model pour yourself a cup of joe or a nice glass of wine and you'll be all set. Once you understand how it works, it does a GREAT job.

Works like magic.

I couldn't be happier with this little gem. Fast and perfect sharping every time. Totally messed up my first bit by not aligning it right. Cut the bad portion off square, aligned the bit properly in the chuck and after just a handful of complete turns, had a better than new bit, albeit a little shorter. I was a little jilted that I did not get the instructional DVD but the owners manual is all you need to get it right. Hope it holds up to all the bits that need sharpening.

Drill Doctor

Only problem I had after watching the instructions was that it only sharpened 118 degree bits unless you put the alignment a couple clicks minus in order to sharpen 135 degree bits, which is what I had mainly of. After selecting the proper degree slot I had no problems sharpening my bits.

Well I finally bought one.

I've been procrastinating buying one of these for years but after organizing my garage and putting the 50 billion dull drill bits in one spot I realized it was past time to sharpen them. Thinking it wasn't rocket science to sharped a drill bit I bought another half-priced brand first. It was beyond junk so I took it back to the tool store for a refund. Great Tool

This tool does exactly what it says. It does an excellent job of sharpening drill bits. It is also very easy to use. Took me about 5 minutes to learn how to use it. If you use drill bits, buy one. It will probably pay for itself.

nice shop addition

works as advertised for bits greater than 1/4. below that better off buying a new bit as they are or will be too short for alignment tool. Would be useful if the video was made for the model in the box.
