Wonderful Tool / Junk Instructions

First ignore the instruction book and go straight to the enclosed DVD. After that it is a MUST HAVE in any good shop or garage. I wish I would have purchased it years ago. Sharpened 1/2" bits that I thought were long gone.

Should have bought this sooner

I have been fighting with dull drill bits for some time now finally broke down and bought the Drill Doctor best money I spent in a long time. I have never sharpened a drill before and this product makes it simple and very easy. I sharpened a box of 100 dull bits in 2 hours and now they go through metal like a hot knife through butter. All of my projects just got easier and much faster with the help of sharp drill bits.

Fair at best

On the surface, this appears to be an easy to use and convenient tool for sharpening your drill bits. But unless you have lots of experience and understand how to use the tool, it will dull your bits before you know it. I think I will watch some videos and learn how to use my grinder. I'm not saying this is a bad tool. Just saying there are better ways to sharpen your drill bits.

Very Limited use

I have made very limited use of this tool, but it worked well so far.

I found the instructions a little confusing, but once I got the hang of it I can sharpen a drill bit in about a minute. A well built quality product.

Hmmmm !!!

Well I have a lot of bits and have been sharpening with a bench grinder .. So I figured this tool for the price would cut my sharpening time down.. Directions are clear and easy to follow .. However, It's tough aligning smaller bits. I've been getting only a little grind and several times had to reset the bit in the chuck.. Good basic bit sharpener

This drill bit sharpener works as advertised. I purchased it recently and will need more time to find out the potential issues with it. One issue I discovered quickly is that it won't sharpen 135 deg drill bits. It also does not come with a storage case.

Very good sharpener - Be sure to read the manual

I needed to drill a dozen 1/4" holes in mild steel about 1/8 in thick. I found 4 1/4" high speed steel bits that I have had around for years. None would bearly make a dent in the steel. I drove down to Lowe's and purchased the Drill Doctor sharpener. I was tired of buying new drill bits as time went by. I watched the video and read the manual and sharpened one of my 1/4" bits. Meets or exceeds expectations

I have a drill bit sharpener made by a different company. Haphazard at best. A friend at work kept telling me how great the Drill Doctor is, so I finally bought one. So sorry I waited so long. So easy to use and does a great job. No more trying to burn a hole through. I'm even using it on the brand new bits. I recommend this to anyone that uses a drill.

Works great! Easy to use!

I initially used the Drill Doctor in the workplace and liked it so much that I purchased one for home use. For the average DIYer, it will take less than five minutes to learn how to use the product. For years I've been tossing out my dull drill bits, but now I can sharpen them like a pro in just seconds. I recommend this product.

Very adequate bit sharperner.

After purchasing this product, I used it to sharpen about 25 bits. It did a good job of sharpening in a reasonable amount of time. Bits were like knew when done and were pretty dull to begin with. I had about 80-100 bits that I kept lying around so I got tired of buying new bits and have never had any success at grinding them. This product is almost foolproof when directions are followed. junk - returning asap

I've been a mechanic, welder, machinist, and hobby person for 25 years. I've always sharpened my bits on a bench grinder. My wife bought me a drill doctor for Christmas, and I was pretty excited about using it. I sharpened a few small bits successfully, but anything over 1/4" will not drill through steel at all. This is good

Bought a Drill Doctor years ago that worked from a drill. This one has a motor of its own and I love it. No guess work about how fast to operate. It sharpens bits real good. The CD that came with it allowed me to play segments over until I got it right. This is a must have if you use drills and want them to cut!!!

Initial Impression

I have only used the sharpener once, but it was easy to use and the drill bits sharpened performed very well. The video disc accompanying the product was very good and made it easy to set up the sharpener and use it.

Great tool!

This is a great little device to have. While I have to admit I probably could have bought years worth of drill bits for $100, it really takes the frustration out of having dozens of dull bits laying around and trying to find one sharp enough to use for a project. It seems to work well for just about every bit I've used in it and it does a good job of sharpening quickly and without much hassle, easy to setup and use etc.
