What Customers Are Saying
The tool is effective at quickly and efficiently removing old paint, stains, and coatings from wood surfaces. However, it requires careful handling as it can easily damage the wood if too much pressure is applied. Some users reported issues with the tool wearing out or breaking, and a few had safety concerns. Overall, the tool is effective when used properly, but it demands a learning curve and caution to avoid potential damage.

Would RecommendI am using this to remove old paint from old cedar siding. It does take some skill in order to have it remove the paint without eating into the siding, but it is working well. It is much faster that trying to scrape the paint with a non-powered tool. I mean way faster. I would recommend the tool, just remember that you will need to do a little practice to get it done right.
Stripped a 12 x 20 deck in about 5 hrs. Worked excellent and did not damage wood. Only downfall was it did not fit one of my grinders. It would hit the guard
Lifesaving Tool for Removing Mastic on HrdWd Flr
Would RecommendI removed some outdated tile in my kitchen to find ugly vinyl sheeting glued to the floor. After removing the vinyl, a ton of the old glue was underneath. I didn't want to use chemicals as they'd probably stain my wood, so mechanical removal was the only option. You can't sand it because the drum will gum up in 2 seconds, especially if you are using water to minimize dust. You can't scrape it manually without wanting to kill yourself. Dry Ice doesn't work. Heat Gun and razors DO work, but it's...
Works incredibly well - doesn't last
Would RecommendI am conflicted on this product, cause it works incredibly well but doesn't hold up. 100yr old house with 10 coats of paint. Some hard and like concrete. This thing strips it off fast like butter.... I mean it really works. However, after a couple hours hard work the blades start slinging off. 1 hit me in the leg, another just missed my head. After 2 or more fly off of the disc I stop as it wobbles so bad it damages the siding. I am on my 6th disc and it slung 1 blade within the 1st 30minutes....

Excellent!
Would RecommendI'm using it to strip paint off my 20 year old deck. It also grinds down the raised grain to level the boards. Works great. Lasts a long time if used right. Must drive down nails first. Used 3 to do 400 sq.ft deck.
Know your surface first before buying
Would RecommendI have a 10 year old (300 sq.ft.) deck that had a semi-transparent finish on it. I wanted to switch to an oil base stain (Penofin) so I decided to completely mechanically strip and prep the surface. This product looked great on the videos as it stripped and prepped the siding on 100 year old homes. So I went with it. Here is the most important fact to consider before purchasing this product. IS THE SURFACE FLAT? My deck, being 10 years old had a lot of cupping in the boards. This tool is m...
DANGER!! Blew Apart Injuring User
Would Not RecommendTwo teeth flew out of head injuring my brother. Normal use, hit a knot on hemfir decking and two teeth dislodged from head after minutes of use. Standard grinder, within spec usage, no unusual conditions. Contacting MFGR and Lowes to discontinue sales.
Great Tool for Removing Rustoleum Restore
Would RecommendI had applied rustoleum 10x restore product to my deck back in ~August 2014. Had a small failure in summer 2015 but then in Summer 2019 the whole deck covering started to fail. After having a ton of contractors not call me back with a estimate and one coming back at ~$1,800 for sanding and removal I decided to take it on myself. This tool was definitely worth the $$. I went through 2 of them to do my deck and stairs. My deck is ~20’x20’. I also bought the guard / vacuum attachment, Total inve...
Not for use on cedar siding/wood
Would Not RecommendI bought it thinking it will make my life easier & make sanding old the paint from the sidings and siding trim of my house, an easy job, since it is advertise to work in wood and siding, but it eats the wood the instant it touches it, definitely too agresive for wood, perhaps just for cedar siding, might me useful for thicker layers of paint,.or if you are not interested in keeping the wood grain.

Works well, but longevity is a problem
Would RecommendThis product isn't cheap but well works very well. As a DYI person, I didn't find it hard to control the blade, but use both hands. Clean up is quite easy with a vacuum attached with the shroud. I was able to take 500 sq feet of paint off realively easy. I have two issues with the product: Issue 1 I don't see any options to replace the blades. I see it on other products, but not this uint. At $50.00 per unit, it gets pricey quickly to replace. I had 750 sq feet to remove multiple coats of pa...
Reliable
Would RecommendI bought this to redo my deck and it worked exactly how I had hoped.

Amazing tool and super easy to use!
Would RecommendI looked into this after receiving several quotes to get my deck resurfaced. I HIGHLY recommend this and after seeing what it did with my deck my neighbors on either side of me plan on getting it too! My deck is more than 10 years old, weather worn, and had at least 3 different paint colors on it, and this tool worked WONDERS on making it look almost new again! I am really glad that I got the Diamabrush 5" attachment that went around it. The attachment helped to contain and suck up most of th...

Works
Would RecommendGrinder worked great taking thin layer of decking off to like new. It’s a dirty job and time consuming, takes a minute to figure out how much pressure to apply. Less is more! The blades wear down quick if pushing too hard. Worth the time and money.

Nice little tool.
I had some stubborn stain left on my deck that was not coming off with a stripper. This did the trick but I did get some small swirl marks. I am not sure if user error or not (never even used an angle grinder before). I used very light pressure but too light and nothing was removed. It also ripped the heads off a couple nails that were not sunk into the wood far enough. Highly recommend using the dust collection with this. I will probably use this to strip off the paint trim on my little barn ne...

Eats Paint (and wood if you’re not careful)
Would RecommendWe needed to remove 40 year old paint from our very large deck. We tried various strippers, a pressure washer, a specialty tool with a nylon wheel, and none were doing the job. We happened to see this displayed in the paint aisle, and decided to give it a shot after watching the video of it in use. It definitely eats the paint, and makes the wood look almost brand new. It does leave chatter marks, and we’ll have to come through afterward and do a final sanding, but it does exactly what it claims...

Too invasive
Would RecommendUsed this for my deck, and found it to be tearing the wood. Took a lot of sanding to smooth the devastation

Great except if you have nail heads sticking up
Would RecommendRestoring a 20 year old deck and it works fantastic but if you don't nail down any nail heads that are slightly sticking up it will catch them and wear down the teeth.
