I was excited to own my very own tool of this nature after seeing them used on so many job-sites over the years. A Hilti type gun was finally called for during one of my home projects. I read the manual, watched the video, loaded my nail and shot, pushed down per the instructions - Hammer Strike 1.....nothing. Okay, I will go again after waiting the 30 seconds... went again with the hammer. Again, again, and again! I got so frustrated with this thing. Pure garbage. I am shocked at a product car...

Would Not RecommendEvery negative statement in these reviews is true. Do not buy this product! For over a year, I was thinking it was me, or a one of a kind problem. I happened to chance on the reviews.
Unreliable
Would Not RecommendTakes 6-7 hits before it randomly fires. Thought it was defective at first until I read other reviews. Very inconsistent but eventually got the job done. Pay a little extra and get a better tool. It will be worth it.
ok for the occaisional user
This is an ok tool if you are going to use it occasionally and for small jobs but not for all the time use. It doesn't fire all the time, sometimes you have to hit it 3-4 times before it fires.

Would Not RecommendShould have listened to all the other reviews. Does not do the job. We have an old Ramset that quit working and thought this would be the same, but it is crap. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Would Not Recommendthe firing pin end came out of it after 9 nails took it back to Lowe's the would not swap it because i bought it 105 days ago and they will only return for 90 days. if you are going to sell there tools then you should Warranty there stuff because you are there tool dealer. and p.s. i had my recipe.

Didn’t Work Out of Box... Waste of Money and Time
Would Not RecommendI bought this despite all the negative reviews because I just needed to frame a closet and a hall (which totaled under 20ft of length). I don’t foresee ever using it again so I couldn’t justify buying one of the more expensive models. I bought it, carried it home, loaded it, striked with hammer and... NOTHING. Okay, maybe bad load, tried with another, and nothing. After messing with it for a day I decided to take it back and bought the T1000 to which I was able to successfully finish the job...

Would Not RecommendStruck actuator pin MANY times and averaged about 20 hits per actuation. Eager for a resolution, I waited on hold 28 minutes for DeWalt customer service, only to be told I wasn't doing anything wrong, and there were no recalls. BTW, at the end of the call the rep said, "Thank you for calling Stanley." So apparently this isn't really a DeWalt product.
Worked as advertised
Would RecommendOnly shot 2 with it so far. Shot 3" nails into a base plate, had to hit it a few times on the first one but the second one went right in. Worked good.
Helping Hand
Would RecommendGreat tool, excellent quality. Used to remodel a basement after a company came in to waterproof the foundation. Easy and efficient to use. Make sure you follow the directions and determine the load needed, based on the material you plan to attach to. Highly recommended.

Broke after about 5 uses
Would Not RecommendFirst, only about every 6th hammer hit would fire the nail. Not what you'd expect as there shouldn't be any unpredicatable behavior when it comes to what is in essence a firearm. Second it broke after about 5 uses, sucks.

Would Not RecommendNever fired a single cartridge. Not 1. I have used this type of tool for years. Never had a tool so simple fail so miserably. Yes, I read the instructions. Three times back to back.
Poorly designed
Would Not RecommendI was surprised that DeWalt markets this ineffective device. You cannot drive a "nail" horizontally ad the cartridge will not stay in the "chamber" rendering the tool useless. I returned it to Lowe's for a full refund. Back to masonry bits and lead anchors. I should have listened to the previous reviews.

Tool fell apart after two strikes. I imagine the one I had was defective as I usually have good reviews with dewalt tools, but this one unfortunately fell apart.
