Would Not RecommendI went through 2 of these and gave up. I framed 2 rooms and used this tool. I figured out that you strike the head not too hard and strait and it works okay.... for a few times. The problem is in the striker part somewhere im guessing. Spend more money and get the more expensive one. AND KEEP YOU RECEIPT?
I wish I could give ZERO starts
Would Not RecommendWow what a joke. Possibly the worst tool I've ever owned!
what a joke
Would Not RecommendWore my arms out striking this thinkmg with a hammer trying to get it to fire. It has a simple procedure, but only fires 1 out of about 20 strikes. And when it does, nail doesn’t go in as it should. Don’t be cheap like me, buy the nicer one model, or rent.
That's not how a average rating review works lol!
Would Not Recommendglad I looked at reviews first. says 3 stars out of 5. look closer and everyone rates it 1 star. Some selective advertising right there lmao.
Does not work
Would Not RecommendHuge pain in the butt. Worked 8 times after a pack of cartridges and about a million swings of the hammer. Good workout, crappy tool.
Garbage. Do not buy.
Would Not RecommendWish I had checked reviews. This tool would only fire occasionally... maybe every 7 or 8 hammer strikes. The shell casing kept getting stuck in the barrel and after I finally was able to drive 5 nails, the shell got stuck and stayed stuck. I tried prying it out with a screwdriver and the end of the casing came off leaving the sides lodged in the barrel. I bought a trigger actuated Ramset and it worked perfectly. Not apples to apples as it cost twice as much, but worth the extra $25. Hey Lo...
Dear Lowe’s, please stop selling this item
Would Not RecommendOnce in a while a product will come along that is so badly designed that I have to go out of my way to tell other people about it. This is one of those products. Believe all the reviews. This hammer does not work. Please, do not waste your time and get something else. You’ve been warned! Photo: shows where the tool struck the bottom plate and left a dent with no nail. It also left a few ulcers in my stomach. Total garbage.
Lucky to get three shots!
Would Not RecommendFor whatever reason, for this tool, I never checked the reviews. A few years back I purchased the same style of tool from Lowe’s but was not a “DeWalt” brand. I figured with the name there should be no issues.... boy was I wrong. I went so far as to try another one thinking it must have been bad luck but it was not. For whatever reason this DeWalt tool is poorly made. Even with the second purchase I tried to be more gentle with my use but it didn’t matter. Again three shots and then nothing........
Did not work
Would Not RecommendDOA out the packaging. Never worked, not once. No more Dewalt for me. Lowes should pull these off the shelf.
DO NOT BUY
Would Not RecommendI purchased this and returned it twice. Neither one worked. I couldn’t get either to fire even once. The firing pin doesn’t contact the cartridge rim. Finally purchased a Ramset and it works perfect.
junk
Would Not Recommend30 years with ramset and hilti bought this cause it was cheap and didnt worry if i lost it on a jobsite Id rather lose a name brand than use this finicky firing pin sticking junk
No Issues
I just read the manual and have successfully completed the task I set out to do.
A piece of junk by Dewalt
Would Not RecommendI can’t believe that Dewalt would sell a tool that simply doesn’t work. I tried at least sixty times to drive a nail. It amazingly work twice! I follow all the fine print safety instructions to a tee. Then, I took my heaviest hammer and hit it at least ten times in a row and nothing happened! Now I have a piece of metal that Lowes won’t take it back because I don’t have the receipt! What a waste of time and money!!! Do not buy this tool!!!
If a product ever deserved 0 stars, this is it.
Would Not RecommendJust to echo everyone else, with such a small purchase I didn't check reviews. I trusted the DeWalt name, a mistake I won't make again. The DeWalt name means very little to me at this point after all the expletives and frustration. I don't have the packaging so it's doubtful Lowe's will take it back. What a piece of hot garbage.
Deserves zero stars, and a recall.
They bamboozled me too. Not a big purchase didn't think I needed to research it. Just need to anchor some furring strips to concrete block and didn’t want to drill all those holes. Thing was DOA. Never worked. Found these reviews after trying to look up why it wouldn’t work. Huge waste of time. Drilling holes and using screws would have been quicker. What’s even better. The real icing on the cake. I’m standing in Lowe’s right now where they have four in stock, which have all been previously o...
Hardly works
Would Not RecommendI have to hit this with extreme force over and over to get this to work. Almost impossible to use and when it does actually fire it's a complete surprise. Now the plastic top of the tool is starting to break away from the striking area. Do not buy this hammer tool
No, thank you.
Would Not RecommendDewalt, this is a waste of time and money. Fires about once out of every thirty tries. A hammer works much better. I will be returning. And Lowe's should pull this product from the shelves immediately.
Should’ve read reviews before going to the store
Would Not RecommendLike so many before have said, the tool simply fails. Multiple attempts even with a 3 lb hammer and the darn thing won’t fire reliably. Got it to work twice somehow, but it’s going back.
Garbage
Would Not RecommendBroke the very 1st time I used it
bought one and it works great. I think people need to learn how to use the ram set. It won't fire if you don't hit the middle where you are suppose to hit it. Plus, you have to fully compress it down before hitting the middle.
