What Customers Are Saying
The Craftsman weedwacker is a mixed bag. Some users found it to be a powerful, lightweight, and easy-to-use tool that effectively trims weeds and grass. However, many reported major issues with the string feeding and replacement system, as well as problems with the engine, pull cord, and other mechanical failures. The reviews suggest the product has both positive and negative aspects, and customers should carefully consider the pros and cons before purchasing.

Would Not RecommendI have owned two of these craftsman pieces of crap. One last lasted a year the replacement I just bought lasted less than two months and only used it twice. And I bought the $30 a gallon of premix gas. Spend the extra 200 and go get a stihl or anything other than this 3 star junk.
Engine Housing Spins during use
Would Not RecommendI had one for 2 years before the engine housing started slipping and spinning to the point it would come off the shaft. I bought a new one last fall. The new one spins right out of the box. It hasn't detached from the shift yet but I stop every few minutes and spin it back into place.

Disappointed
Would Not RecommendI purchased the Craftsman WC2200 weed eater as a last resort. Time didn't allow me to wait for a better product. I used it 2 times and it has not run since. It cranks it, but won't stay running. I used the correct fuel/oil mixture. This is by far not my first gas-powered weed eater, so it's not inexperience to be blamed. I would have recommended Craftsman's products in their old product line, but after selling their new power tools for several years, I am no longer a fan. The only thing I can gi...

Low Quality Trimmer
Would Not RecommendThe trimmer is hard to start. The reloading of the string was not well designed. I've had better trimmers. Save your money and with a slightly more expensive brand.

I prefer gas over a battery operated more power
Would RecommendMy last weedeater was this one. I like curved shaft im use to it. I think straight shaft would be difficult because im short.

Semi satisfied
Would RecommendI bought a Craftsman Gas powered weed eater in July '24. After a few hours of use, the string, used to start the engine, pulled out all the way and would not go back in. I returned the weed eater back to Lowes in Griffin, GA and was told that it would have to be sent out for repair since Lowes does not do repairs in house. After a couple months I received a email from Ms Lois at Lowes stating that my weed eater could not be repaired and she had ordered me a new unit to be delivered to my home. I...

Primer bulb failure
Would Not RecommendPurchased item on 5/2024 and now the primer bulb is not re-expanding correctly. I now have to 1) fix it myself or 2) wait several months before someone can service it.

Trash
Would Not RecommendDO NOT PURCHASE this weedeater! Only lasts a couple of months, and then you can't return to Lowe's; have to contact the manufacturer. Spend your hard earned money on something else.

Junk
Would Not RecommendThis trimmer is trash. Loading the line is a nightmare. No quick line feature. No aftermarket attachments fits in place of the trimmer line. After 2 seasons I’m done with it. Along with the Craftsman mower I bought that last 1 season I’m surely done with this name.

Breaks easily and warranty process is horrible
Would Not RecommendWorked well for 2 months. Then the head stopped spinning fast enough to cut any grass. I filed a warranty claim, and have essentially been ghosted. Repair shop says they filed the warranty with Craftsman and that Craftsman will be sending me a new one in the mail. It's been a month now and I am still without a unit. Why can't they just offer a credit for Lowes/Ace?? This process is maddening and from the look of it, others have similar issues. Avoid this brand.
