Love my new serger!

For years I was so intimidated by sergers. I’ve only been sewing for about a year and a half with my Brother sewing machine. I finally decided to get a serger for my birthday in January, and I’m so glad I did! So far I’ve made an apron for one daughter and pajama bottoms for another daughter and going to start an apron for my other daughter. The finish looks so professional and straight! I’m still learning to sew and all my projects seem to have boo boos, but with the serger, they don’t show up ...

changing needles

I have enjoyed my serger and am learning new things with it often! Most people say that the hardest part is threading the machine. Actually, that is not hard at all, once I got it. I even have made some items and it is a great machine to have. The only thing I would change would be how the needles are accessed/ changed. The machine came w/ an Allen wrench to adjust the screw for the needles. I find this hard and complicated to unscrew while holding the needles in place or to take one out and not...

I love the machine

I love my serger. However, I am unable to see the demos because I have an iMac and most computers no longer take CD’s. There should be an account that is completely online where purchasers can access all of the visual information. Thank you.

This change everything

All those people who sew, as a professional, hobby Or any thing should get this machine. It’s make life so easy. The only problem is the mess , I wish it has a bag for the mess it makes

Very pleased.

I am very pleased with my new serger. My old brother serger just gave out. It was only 35 plus years old. My new one came with the gathering foot ( I haven't tried it yet ) and the hemming foot. That one is great, I used it to shorten the sleeves on my daughter's new shirt. I have since ordered the elastic foot and it will be here very soon. User friendly!

I can't compare it to other sergers because this is the only one I have ever used. But although I was intimidated at first, I jumped in and found it to be pretty easy and user friendly. Re-threading is not hard. The dvds that came with it were not very good. I've learned mostly from the internet and youtube.

Great machine

This is a super little machine. Although not an automatic threader, the lower looper threading is soooo much easier than my old machine! I am very pleased.

Adds a professional quality to my projects!!

I'm very pleased with my Brother 1043d and have recommended this machine to anyone who asks for serger recommendations. this machine is very easy to thread and care for. I can easily switch from 4-thread serge to 3-thread rolled hem (which I use quite often).

Why did I wait??

I really love this machine. I was hesitant to purchase because I thought,it's so inexpensive that it must not be well made. Well so far, this is far from that thought.

Best gift ever

I've been sewing for years but this is my first surger I was worried about learning to see with it even threading it looked intimidating but I've been able to thread it and sew very easy great product and the DVD made learning about the machine a breeze. Love it!

Good purchase

Good purchase however very difficult to thread lower threads and instructions not clear on how to set or change the tensions or the size of the stitches.

Great Serger

I was a little gun shy as the first serger I owned was a beast. It was impossible to thread and so many other issues. I was afraid to change the thread on this machine but I read the directions, followed them exactly and was amazed, IT WORKED!! It's very easy to use. Love it.

Not nearly as easy as it seems

Instruction booklet is generic, not specific to machine I bought. Videos dark and hard to follow. I would prefer better instruction book with pictures. Poor communication with company trying to get information,

Excellence

I have had 2 Singer Sergers, after a year, both failed, ordered 3rd decided to return, would not serge properly???? Did extreme research on Brother Baby Lock 1034D. Finally purchased and I am thrilled beyond words, much easier to thread and there is not constant thread breakage, etc. Very happy with purchase, gotta end review, ready to sew.

I've owned many brother machines. I fined them very dependable, and easy to operate. The Brother machines are very affordable.

Threading it myself wasn’t as difficult as I thought. I nearly bought an automatic threader. Not necessary. This baby does a great job.
