Would RecommendI was frankly unsure as to whether this serger would meet my need but as it turns out this is a wonderful serger for beginners. It's quite easy to use and the tutorials provided in CD form were very helpful. My biggest concern was the "all dreaded" threading. However, (I know that this may sound crazy to many, but...) I actually caught on to the threading quite easily and actually LOVE threading this serger!!! Best decision made (wished I had purchased one years ago) and best of all, the price w...

Very helpful machine
Would RecommendI find this machine easy to use. The only problem I have is trying to change the needles. The directions are good but my CD didn’t work. So I had to go online.

Works ok
Sews ok. Had a more professional model for 30 years. Finally wore it out. Don't use one a lot now so, this will be ok. It's lighter weight than other one.

Would RecommendI love the machine but the instructional cd did not play on my IMac it only plays on a window bases software. Thankfully there are Youtube video's that were perfect made by a 3rd party. I use the machine mostly for binding On my quilts by putting fusilleren toreador in the looper. it workshop like a charm.

Great serger for a beginner
Would RecommendI am a novice at serging and have found this serger is perfect. With more practice there is so much more to do with the 1034. Forgot just how fast serging could be. It's simple to thread. Easy to manipulate for the perfect stitch. I would recommend this serger because the price was right and the machine is worth every penny!

OK but should be easier to thread.
Would Not Recommendimportance of oiling machine should be first in instructions, rather than on page 53.

confidence in Brother
Would RecommendI haven't had time yet to use my new serger on a big project. It replaced my old one (another brand). I own other Brother products, sewing machine and printer, and am 100% confident the 1034D serger will be a winner.

Wonderful machine
Would RecommendI love my brother 1034d serger!! I used it right out of the box. It is so easy to operate. You can control the speed with the foot pedal. I needed to thread the machine and it was so easy to do following the video and book directions. I am so glad that I purchased this machine.

Love it!
Would RecommendThis is the first serger I have ever even used but I love it. I kept hearing from friends how horrible threading a serger was but this is quite easy for me. Plus, it stitches the seam and overcasts at the same time! I make items that I donate to hospitals and this saves so much time I am able to more!

Brother 1034D
Would Not RecommendThe best thing I can say about the serger is that stitch is very good. The video provided with the machine is a good idea, except the viewing window is way to small. Especially the threading videos on the the loopers. Your video was to small and to dark. I had to go to You Tube to get a better view to seeing how to thread them. I'm also concerned about how noisy the machine is. I listen to a audio book while I'm sewing and can't hear it as long as I'm sewing and the CD player is only setting 2 f...

Serging Newbie
Would RecommendI love my 3 vintage sewing machines but decided to dip my toe into the sergeing world. I am a total newbie. I purchased this 1034D for the price, good reviews and extra items included with the package. After watching several Youtube videos beforehand, I found it easy to thread at my first attempt. No problems. I oiled it up and made my 5 test strips showing all tension- setting variations.. My first try-out, a simple soda cup carrier made for a relative's walker, came out great. I was amazed at ...
