Awesome generator

We purchased this generator before Hurricane Irma hit us in Florida. We were amazed that we could run our electronics (tv, computers, etc), fans, lights, fridge, deep freezer, and even our A/C short term if we wanted. It was easy to use which we were worried about due to never using one prior. The unit ran great and started right up whenever we needed it to. We ran it non stop for 3 hours and only used 1.5 gallons of gas.

Ready to run

I was lucky to get this when hurricane Matthew passed but I didn't need it. My intention was to wait until the store got larger units in and exchange it paying the difference, but I never did. It stayed wrapped until the following season for hurricane Irma. I used it for 5 straight days running 2 refrigerators and a freezer,along with a water cooler, 3 fans and a television. Great buy

Used it for hurricane Irma. Ran a dual unit mini split AC unit, 2 fridges, all lights, outlets, and fans, throughout house. Ran everything except stove, dryer, central air which are 220v. Very satisfied with this purchase. It ran for 12 hrs @ 35 to 40 percent load which aloud a full night sleep. Ran for 60 hrs so far.

Purchased it after the storm ,was fortunate to enter the parking lot at the Lowes in Tarpon Springs Fl as a customer was returning the generator because his power returned , My power was out for 5 days and it ran our refrigerator, and several fans and a room air conditioner,TV charge our phones We were able to stay in our home while most of our neighbors evacuated.

Clutch mechanism in pieces, cracked

Bought a Troy built generator 6250 running watts, 8500 starting watts to have for times like hurricane Irma. The first time I needed it, the starter chord had No recoil, it completely pulled out, unable to start. Upon further inspection, plastic clutch mechanism was in pieces. Had people come to our home because we Thought we had generator, frustration, embarrassed doesn't even begin to explain.

EXCELLENT Machine for the price

I am typing this using power from this awesome machine. I am in Florida and will likely have no power for at least another week after Hurricane Irma. After Hurricane Matthew last year (2016), my generator died and I bought this to replace it. What a fantastic generator! I'm so glad I did. They put some serious thought and effort into this machine. We purchased this generator for Irma and it was fantastic. Very easy to start. We had fridge, tv, cable box, microwave, fans, and lights running off of it with no issues. Comes with a great chart on how much can plug into it. Assembly instructions very straight forward and quick to assemble. Ratings are more than enough for power needs after a hurricane.

Survived Irma

I got lucky and one was rolling off the truck last tuesday and lost power Monday Sep 11th at 2:25am. At one point it was running 3 refrigerators (2 of them via 250' of ext cord to neighbors house) a 10,000 btu portable AC unit, three fans, tv, cable/wifi equip and it was only pulling 37% load. A little loud but completely acceptable when talking about the power this thing supplies.

A lifesaver!!

I can't speak enough good things about this generator. Purchased it at Lowe's as an afterthought (as Hurricane Irma was approaching) as I walked by, getting the last of the 4 they had at the time. OK so far, but with some quirks

We're using this generator in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. So far, it seems to be performing to specs. One spec that is not included is the decibel level. This generator is LOUD - the loudest I've ever used. It's getting the job done, but does it really have to be at pain level volume? Some of the newer inverter generators now coming out have decibel ratings in the upper 50 or low 60s. B&S doesn't publish the decibel rating of this machine, and now I see why. Junk

Purchased this generator in preparation for Hurricane Irma. Got it home put gas in and tested out to make sure we will be good to go when the storms hits. Was working fine. The next day when the storm got here and we lost power I set up the generator and all it does is sputter and spit out black smoke.

Used after Hurricane Harvey & no electricity for two weeks. Worked great to power fridge, tv, fans & lights. Glad to have on hand now for any future uses & hunting lease.

Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on us and we were without power for 5 days (in the South Texas heat). I purchased this under duress and without any research because my family needed the basic things electricity makes possible. I have been extremely pleased with this thing. It powered my fridge, a few lamps, cell phone chargers, a microwave oven, and a window unit AC (5,000 BTU). Works great but a little on the loud side. That's not a concern for me because it powered my house up easily. Just needs to include plug for 240v.
