This is a must have for any homeowner with a washing machine, water heater, sump pump. This device gives you an early warning that something is not working properly, water is on the floor and needs attention. The battery compartment is small and hard to fit both wires and 9 volt battery not included. This is an inexpensive way to keep your flood under control.

If this device works as advertised it could save someone a lot of headaches regarding water damage. It's simple to set up but there isn't really a good way to test it. I suppose you could set it in some water and see if it goes off, but I was concerned about damaging it prior to actually needing it.

Very helpful

Every time I think we've found every way to get water in our basement it turns out there's another. I've got four of these watching over places in the basement. One of them just prevented a lot of water damage last week. My only complaint is the design of the battery compartment. It can he hard to get the 9V battery in and out.

This may be the one product you don't want to hear go off, because if it does, there is water in the area! I did test it, and the tone sounds just like my last one, which I could hear through the entire house. We left the last one in the basement when we sold our home. I have two alarms at the present time and both units alarmed me when I only had a very small leak. Because of the great quality of the product and the low cost, I will purchase more units.

Glad I got this item, it has already alerted me that the pressure relief valve on my water heater was dripping.

CHEAP INSURANCE

I wish I had purchase this before my water heater decided to start leaking. Yes my water heater was sitting in a metal pan but the fitting in the drain pan dripped and put a stain on my bedroom ceiling. For the price of this simple warning system, It makes no sense not to have one.

Awsome tool

My AC Unit drain gets clogged and the water runs all over my basement floor and I have no idea when it happens until l walk in to a puddle of water. I installed the alarm in the morning and that night I heard it going off and low and behold the AC was leaking and I caught it was before it made a mess all over the floor.

I will sleep much better.

Shortly after having over 5 feet of water in my basement I woke up one rainy night and decided to check the basement for water. At 1:15 AM I found 5" of water in my basement. This was just one inch from the recently replaced oil burner. We did get pumps set up and saved the basement. I now have 10 of these under (or near) every water source in my house and garage - and they work exceptionally well.
