Works great. We have central vac system, works great too, has not power head with brush. We have pets. House I'd half carpet and half hardwoo. We vac house with central. I follow immediately with robot, had to clean rollers and dump bin half way through. Cleaned again when finished. I was amazed at how much hair the robot found. Not sorry for purchase. Had a few issues, called customer service and they stuck with me till issue resolved. Great service.

Loses programming if base is moved
Unit is on-par with what I expected. The main deawbacks are having to reprogram every time the base is ubplugged since it has no battery backup, and it gets lost(can't find way back to base). Still happy with my purchase since it was heavily discounted.

does NOT clean dark (semi dark) floors
DO NOT purchase this product if you have any flooring that is remotely dark. This is not stated on the packaging. The SmartClean DOES NOT clean dark floors. I paid a lot of money for a product that cleans a very small portion of my home.

Dog "accident" + Smart Clean = ?
The day after Super Bowl Sunday, the dog had an accident. The Smart Clean ran at 10AM , and went through it, and dragged it around the house. I thought it was "killed". A little soap and water, an old toothbrush, and it was good as new. I've had 2 other robotic vacuums, and they were hard to program, got stuck under furniture, and had small collection bins. Thumbs Up!
Great product! I enjoy that I can set the timer, leave for work, and come home to a clean space. This robot is nice because it knows when to go back to its charging station. It also transitions well over different types of flooring and rugs. Very smart at going around items aka doesn't get stuck in one area. And really gets in those corners! Good suction. Easy set up, the trap is a breeze to empty and it doesn't take up much room to charge either. Great find. Very pleased.

Brush roll
Had this product a few days, amazed at how effective it is, but today when I was cleaning the brush roll it wouldn't secure back into the slot, I called into Bissell, the guy was very nice, we went over everything and he basically said that the gold tip should be protruding out to hold the brush in but it's not, he is emailing me a shipping label for an exchange but I'm worried that I'll get a refurbished or reconditioned unit instead of a brand new one.

Doesn't work at all USELESS product.
Horrible. HATE this vacuum I really wanted a robot vacuum, I wanted a rumba, got this instead. HORRIBLE on carpet. Constantly getting stuck trying to climb chairs etc, then it beeps and dies. What is the point if I have to follow it around the house and redo everything. Tried to love it. Very disappointed. It was a christmas gift so unfortunately I can't return it. I suppose it will have to sit in my back closet. HORRIBLE. If I could give it Zero Stars I would.

I love this product
This sweeper does everything I expected. Not sure I do the right mode to get it to return to its base. I have not used the auto start time as I don't have that need. We have mostly tiled floors here in Florida but it works well on our floor carpeting upstairs. My husband even noticed that his socks don't get as dirty! We wear socks on our tiled floors! I received this as a Christmas gift and have used it daily since then. Super easy to set up and EVERY DAY when I get home from work I check the collection bin and its FULL of dust bunnies, small debris, even glitter and pieces of broken glass ornaments that made it to the floor. I have hardwood and tile throughout my home. This is an EXCEPTIONAL item and I would recommend it to anyone. Not sure about capabilities on carpet, but from hardwood and tile perspective it is aces.

Fantastic robot better than expected!
I love this machine! Affordable and effective. Followed instructions, charged, set up dock, and let it do its thing. The Bissell Smart Clean 1605 then proceeded to clean my living room, den, kitchen, and a hallway before successfully returning to its docking station to recharge. Defeating the cliff sensor
I bought this to keep our kitchen swept between vacuumings. We have a dog and kids so the kitchen required daily sweepings. It does a good job picking up the hair and light dirt, its been two weeks and we haven't broken out the main vacuum yet so mission accomplished on that front. One problem is that our carpet has some dark lines which the unit was reading as a 'cliff' (ie stairs) and backing away from the danger. Product works quite well but...
Bought one recently and must say, it works quite well. I am satisfied with the vacuuming and its efforts to cover the whole area. But... FRUSTRATION No 1. The electronic wall does not work very well. Not the wall unit itself but the concept. There seems to be a "blind spot" from the vacuum's side. Great to keep up with pet hair!
We use this product in a small home, the little guy works great. It was easy to set out and the product already had a charge when it came out of the box. We were excited about this product because the cat hair seems never ending (and we can't figure out how she still has any left). One Major Flaw
The 1605 cleans well and efficiently. The major flaw is that if you program the vacuum to clean 45 minutes (for example), on a single pattern with vacuum power at high, the program is reset if the unit bumps into any obstacle. I do not think in a normal household that it can clean without bumping into something. So, the program must be re-enter after each cleaning which makes no sense what so ever.

A bit dissapointed
This little robot has powerful suction, but it cannot handle pet hair at all. The hair merely gets stuck on the rotating brush. Dirt still makes it into the bin, which is why I believe it has sufficient suction. But, the hair will not be picked up. I believe I will give this to a friend that does not have pets.

This product is a great value for the purchase price.
I looked at several brands of robotic vacuums and I think this item is an excellent purchase for the money. I am very pleased with the ease of set-up and operation. It does an excellent job of picking up dog hair so if I have any complaints it would be I have to empty the hair too often and if that is the only thing I can find to complain about then I don't have any complaints.
