One never knows their spouse is listening. My upright is too heavy to lift down steps. I casually mentioned i would like to try this cleaner. My husband heard me! Robotic Vacuum
Have only had this for a short time. It does pick up stuff on the floor but I have noticed it tends to do same area over and over, and misses other areas completely. It can be programmed to move in different ways and I am still learning how to use it. I can't just leave it running, have to be around to pay attention to it, it gets caught on things and needs to be freed.

Would RecommendIt's not a bad little machine.... If works best when have a fairly empty room, or you move the furniture around so it doesn't bump into everything. It's noisy... For what it does the motors don't have noise suppression or sound dampening. It does have decent suction if you are using it on basic carpets or on hard wood floors. The robot has a tendency to get stuck on things like tables, some obstacles, mats, some furniture. You have to "prep" the room for the robot which kinda defeats the purpose...

bad start
I purchased the 1605 Robot 4 days ago. Charged it overnight... everything seemed fine. Next day programed the docking system, and could not turn the vacuum on!... went to the chatline with Bissell to see what I was missing... by the end of the conversation, Bissell is sending me a replacement unit. I am waiting for my labels and will ship this one back, then wait 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive, (hopefully) I understand sometimes things happen, this machine has never vacuumed for one minut...

Would Not RecommendNo instructions in the box. When fully charged, it would start briefly, the flashed "E1" and made irritating beeps. There were no obstacles anywhere near it. It is going back in the morning.

This is a good buy
Would RecommendWe have a dog that of course sheds, we use this Monday thru Friday 5pm prior to getting home, very efficient in keeping the floors hair free, occasionally will find the unit stuck in a weird place where it will go beyond where it should go. I would recommend this to anyone with pets that shed hair.

Great vacuum when it works
Would RecommendI use this for carpet and tile in my tiny 500 sq ft apartment. It works very well! I love how I can set it to run at the same time every day and I love how my floors are always clean. We have had a terrible experience. It loves to fall down the stairs. It does not hold a charge and does a poor job compared to our irobot vacuum. Canadian tire would not let us return it directly to them. We are dealing with Bissell directly now.

Confused
The unit cleans well, but gets confused when it is near the electronic wall. It stays in the same place an keeps going back and forth. Sometimes it escapes by moving backwards through the electronic wall. .?? We are learning at the same time as the vacuum and hope we can get past the glitches

Beats my moulding up
Cleans my laminate floor well, especially under furniture. It has damaged my moulding so I've stopped using it. It also got hung on rugs often.

I'm using this vacuum for a month every day, it's very helpful to keep my carpet clean,i give it 4 Star because the filter not washable. I like it it , good for Pet's hair.

Waiting on my third unit
To be fair, when it works, we're fairly happy with it. With our busy schedule, we don't have time to keep up with vacuuming on a regular basis. It really keeps up with the pet hair from two dogs & two cats. Like some other reviewers have stated, it does it's own thing when it comes to the programs. You can set it for a particular program, but it eventually goes into random mode and does whatever it wants. Not too big of a deal because it still cleans well. So disappointed
I am a huge Bissell fan. Every product vacuum , mop, carpet cleaner, ect I own are Bissell brand. This is the most disappointing product I have ever bought from them. Let's start with the dog hair bunching at the entrance to the empty bucket so it constantly tells you to empty the bucket even though it's not full. Second is the time length of the battery. I am lucky if it runs for 10 mins before it's battery is dead. This was supposed to make my life a little easier instead it done the opposite....

I purchased my Bissell about 3 weeks ago. I gave it only 3 stars because of the length of the cleaning brush. The brush has about a 4" cleaning span. When I look at the cleaning pattern ( and I use them all) it doesn't seem to clean my whole room. I also have the iRobot Roomba which has a 6" cleaning brush. Charging problems
Cleans my tile floors good, but I sent back my first one because it wouldn't charge anymore. Almost a month later I received the replacement one and after the 2nd day of using it I am getting the E6 (code for charging problem) again. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I am going to look into a different vacuum.

Works very well/great customer service
Have had The Smart Clean since last Christmas. It handles the challenge of two long haired cats with great efficiency. The only negative is getting their hair out of the brush. Not an issue when compared to handling an upright, Last month the unit began to fail to charge on the charger base. Bissell replaced the charger base, however, that did not "fix" the problem.
