A worthwhile addition

Bought this for an August lock I installed a few years ago. Avoids the hassle of finding my iPhone every time I want to enter. It's quite useful.

So far it works.

Bought the keypad because the locks ability to track when you come home and unlock automatic has been very unreliable. Keypad has worked as a backup. I could not give it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. 1st. The software wants everyone to have their own unlock code. So we just use the emergency code we added. 2nd after entering the number and pushing the August symbol to unlock. It takes anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds to actually unlock. Works great

So far so good. Was a bit smaller than I anticipated but I like it. Much easier to have the option vs a phone (especially with guests).

Great alternative when I don’t have my phone., works great every time.

Used to be great.

I give it 3 stars because it worked great for about a year and now is failing. The main button that gets pressed constantly is the "August" or "A" button or the enter button, it's the one on the bottom. That is failing and works in 1 out of 4 tries...many guests say they can't get in. When it works we love it! Picks connection back up after power outage and well designed just crappy build quality.

Handy accessory....but...

It came in and was easy to setup, but the motion trigger to light up the keypad doesn't work. Have removed the batteries, removed and reinstalled to the app, and nothing has worked. Need to file claim with August and hopefully they will replace.

Poor quality

The one that came with my lock was sorry. The one I ordered and paid for was better made and easier to separate. The first one broke the second time I tried to separate it and never would go back together securely. This unit is on the wall in Florida. In the afternoon it gets incredible sun for several hours. Not very good in the winter if exposed

I had terrible luck with it in snow and ice . Cold weather kills the batteries .

Great feature

Makes the one problem of getting locked out of the house without your phone no longer a problem.

Convenient

Nice to have the option to unlock door if key and phone is forgotten. Wish it was available in nickel finish vs just black

I am leaving on small island and the Wifi is unstable This is good device to provide access with the Bluetooth as well Wifi

I have been using an August lock for over 2 years and decided to add a keypad for easier locking and for visitors. The insulation was a snap and it works great!

Terrible Lifespan Great Functionality

This is an amazing product in terms of functionality but only expect it to last 1 year. The Good: The setup is very straight forward and the ease of use is up to expectation. I am using this with the bridge which I think helps with a lot of the connectivity issues people may be experiencing. Great addition to the August smart lock!

So easy to install and very unobtrusive. Makes it so convenient when I don’t have my phone with me.

Nice addition

A couple of times it hasn't triggered the correct response. Open instead of lock. I'm hoping that works itself out. Great size. Nice to be able to place it out of view. The are no instructions on how to use the screws so when/ is I need to mount that way I will have to figure it out.

Reliable and easy to use

The keypad is a great addition to the full August lock system. It is reliable and easy to use. The battery life is great, though would be great to see a low-voltage wired version. Never hand issues with this keypad after over 5 years of use!

Works great - terrible battery life.

I have used this product for about 8 months with spotty and terrible performance. Code does not work etc. then I figured out that even though the battery health said medium, the batteries were too dead. Now the first sign of trouble I replace the batteries. Thats about a month. Why did they not do this slightly bigger in AA. Batteries on my door lock last forever.
