IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL

I tried to install for at least 2 hours and could not get the code to work. I hired someone to do it and they tried for almost 3 hours and cannot get it to work. I will be returning it. I have the August home lock and also a gate lock and they were also very difficult to install. DO NOT BUY unless you are a tech expert with a ton of time on your hands!!!!! I would not recomment any August products------way too hard to install.

Exactly what I needed and worked perfectly

I needed a keypad for my August Lock due to some friends not having a smartphone. This addition works perfectly and installed so easily. Very happy

Does not work with emtek

It would have been nice if that were indicated anywhere on the site

I have the keypad for an airbnb and it continually fails and we have guests ringing us to trouble shoot and we just end up giving them key access. very frustrating, what a waste of money.

Works, but Batteries Die too Fast!

I have been using the August locks with the connect and keypad on both my front and back doors for about 3 years. The locks work well so far, but the keypads are very unreliable and do not warn you before the batteries die. My kids and wife have been stuck outside on several occasions because the keypad stopped working. This is a serious problem and I am looking to switch out my locks since we need the keypad function. Keypad for August Lock

I love having the keypad for letting my neighbor care for our house. She can unlock the door but even better if I spend more time than intended at her house, I don’t get locked out after 15 minutes.

Convienent

I had problems with the connection initially. I ended up having to CALL the help number because the intructions said to reset we should take the batteries out and reinstall. The help instructions did NOT say they had to be left out for TEN SECONDS. That may seem like a small omission but it was a VERY FRUSTRATING one.

Works well. Able to give codes to my whole family so I know who’s coming and going.

works great and fast

keypad is actually faster and easier than unlocking with the phone, and often times faster than unlocking via geofencing. Super easy to setup and install. Overall I wish I had got it a lot sooner.

Devices would not pair. Could not reset.

I purchased two devices for my two locks. I attempted to pair them and could not reset them after the pairing for both failed.

Not premium

It does what it's suppose to do if you do it correctly. But: If you enter the code incorrectly you will need to wait for the back light to go off before you can reenter the code. Anything entered before the back light goes off won't register and you will fail again. This is so not user friendly. I know this is not suppose to be a premium device, but when you release your finger from the button you can feel the adhesive getting lose every single time, feels really cheap.

Have had the WiFi lock for a while; just added keypad. Slim, discreet, unobtrusive, highly functional--great all around system for our condo.

Works great! Except for in Cold Weather.

The keypad is great for my Airbnb guests, except that during the winter the batteries die every 1.5 weeks so I have to constantly change them. Guests are also left on in the cold on many occasions until I can let them in.

Pretty handy addon!

Its a really helpful addon, is way faster than the phone app, meaning; Taking your phone, open app, wait for the connection to the lock and then open it. Also, works when you left your phone inside the house.

One button lock is my favorite feature

I like being able to unlock the door if I don't have my phone with me but my favorite feature is being able to lock the door with one press of the bottom button.

Can't make it work

I tried a couple of times and can't get it to connect . I haven't given up yet though .

Unreliable and continuous intermittently failures

Last week, I purchased the 4th Generation Wi-Fi Smart Lock and, as an AirBnB host, it is everything I've been needing for the last 10 years. However, the keypad is so poorly designed and unreliable, that it has resulted in many of my guests being locked out. This cannot happen for AirBnB hosts. Therefore, as much as I love the lock, the keypad is so bad that I will have no choice but to return both purchases to the retailer. Major convenience!

I added this keypad next to the door from the garage to my kitchen. No more fumbling with my phone or searching for my key when my hands are full of groceries! All I need is my finger!! Easy to install, easy to lock the door, easy to open! I’m so happy with this addition to my August family!
