What Customers Are Saying
This product is a mixed bag in terms of quality and performance. Some users found it to be a simple, compact, and efficient solution for draining small amounts of liquids, while others reported issues like leaks, short or kinked hoses, and poor overall quality. The performance can vary greatly, and some customers may need to modify or replace parts to get it to work reliably for their needs.

Would RecommendWith the CA drought we're all doing what we can to conserve water. I go to our water treatment plant and fill up 6 gallon containers with free non-potable treated water to keep my plants and veggie garden alive. It's a slow process with this manual pump to transfer water, but it works. I've just ordered a battery operated pump from Amazon to see if that can speed up the process.

Reasonably good product
Would RecommendMake sure the hose is all the way down the oil well in the mower otherwise you may think all the old oil is out and then end up overflowing when putting in the new.

Great for milking a goat
Would RecommendThis siphon works great for our purpose. We added a couple slight modifications and use the siphon to milk our goat. No milk goes into the siphon, only in to the mason jars. It used to take us 30 minutes to milk due to the kicking and small udders. Now, we are done in 5 minutes, no kicking or swearing anymore. This product does what it is supposed to do and more.,

3 Only because I finally got oil of of mower
Would Not RecommendThis product has issues with the orange hoses. I tried putting a dowel thru them and laying them in the sun for awhile first as others have suggested. I am giving it 3 stars only because I did get the oil out of my mower but not easily. The upper orange hose continually collapsed and I had to release it from the black hose, and then pump again, which made for a very messy process. Took me about 1/2 hour I think, and a lot of oil slopping around. I tried to see if I could email Arnold support bef...
great emergency pump
Would RecommendI had to drain a water heater and the normal drail outlet would not work.so I used this pump to get enough water out to be able to move the water heater out.

Works as designed and better than cheaper models
Would RecommendI use this to transfer fuel out of yard equipment for winter or summer storage. This is the third transfer pump I've purchased over three years. The other two were squeeze style "bulb" pumps with a one way valve or bead, They were slow sometimes difficult to use and the valves/beads stopped working after one use and storage. This one emptied a half gallon tank in less than a minute including assembly time for the hoses on the pump. It was also easy to clean/rinse afterwards by pumping water thro...

Not as easy as I thought it would be
Would Not RecommendI thought after a couple of pumps it would flow on it's own, but you have to constantly pump whatever your siphoning. You also need to make sure you keep the output hose way down in whatever your siphoning it into or it will spray up out of there from the pressure of you pumping, I had someone hold it down. It isn't the worse thing I've ever used & for the price it was okay.

Did what I wanted.
Would RecommendSome said their hose was kinked. The package I bought had the hose coiled with no kinks and the pump worked fine. I used it to siphon oil out of lawn mower.

very handy
Would RecommendThis little siphon is very easy to use, lightweight, and efficient! Very handy to have for gas powered outdoor equipment.

Siphon pump works well with some precautions
Would RecommendI purchased this device to remove gasoline from my snow blower and generator. Assembly of the device as it came from packaging was easy. The actual pumping of gasoline was easy but I had to keep pumping as this device DOES NOT WORK LIKE A STRAIGHT HOSE. It did empty the tanks in short order. The hoses are stiff and required the assistance of my wife to keep the one end from jumping out of the receiving gas can (they may be more flexible in summer)--it required both of my hands just to pump the t...

does not work
Would Not RecommendTried to use this product to drain the fuel from my snow thrower before replacing the carburetor. Do not buy this product. It does not work and is poorly designed.

It worked but caused frustration.
Would RecommendThe unit worked OK, but my frustration was because the tubing used will not straighten. When trying to get the tubing to the bottom of the gas tank on my lawn tractor, it would always bend back to the rolled up shape. The siphon worked fine, but the tubing is really hard to work with. It took two of us to manipulate the tubing and pump so we could empty the tank. We are now trying to straighten the tubing by putting dowels in and letting it hang in the garage. Hopefully, this will work and the s...

Signed up just to review this pump
Would Not RecommendThe orange hoses seem to be permanently kinked severely limiting flow. The black hose seems to be permanently curled limiting the ability to reach the bottom of the gas tank. The plastic that the hoses are made of is hard. I expected something more akin to surgical tubing. I used this to empty a motorcycle tank. It worked, but due to the issues with the hoses what should have taken 5 minutes took 30. The pump feels cheap and I don't expect it to last more than a few uses. If you buy this plan t...
Good Pump Bad Hoses
Would Not RecommendThe pump works simple enough. The problem is the hoses. They are kinked and aren't reinforced to avoid collapse. The suction hose should be reinforced so that when it draws the liquid into the pump it won't collapse under a vacuum as it currently does. The discharge hose also needs to be reinforced so it won't kink and prevent the flow of liquid leaving the pump. This happened to me with gasoline. The hose kinked and the pressure in the pump caused the hose to disconnect from the pump and forcef...

flimsy
Would Not RecommendOrange hose is too flimsy. My suggestion us to just buy a large syringe and attach a long rubber hose to draw out the oil from a small engine.

Used as oil pump
Would RecommendI used this to remove oil from a lawnmower. It worked, but the orange hose provided with the pump is too flimsy. When I began pumping, the upper hose collapsed from the vacuum, blocking the flow of oil. I had to pinch the hose to keep it open while pumping. This required a second person to help. The hose included with this product may be OK for gasoline or other thinner liquids. I did not try that.

Bought this siphon pump to remove oil from my machines. Works well. One hint: living in the northeast I put driveway markers used in the winter thru the orange hoses and left them sun for a few hours and the packaging kinks were gone. It is a poor packaging design on Arnold's behalf!
