Best deck protection ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Cabot products for years and have never been disappointed with the performance of this product. At the top of my list is Deck Correct. I won't use any other product on my decks and I live in Arizona. Deck Correct can handle the brutal AZ summer. Best protection on the market IMO.

Great Product

World of difference

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We spent the last 3 summers redoing our large wooden deck. The deck is 25 years old and in need of a major overhaul. Unparalleled solution to renew old weathered wood!

Deckcorrect with recommended by a friend and not only did it look like a new deck the deep lines in the wood from being weathered gave it a great look. It was easy to use and did a great job.

goes on really good

The product goes on good but the color that is the dab on the can is not what it looks like on the deck. The color was alot brighter than what i was expecting and was very disappointing.

Easy to work with — looks great!

I have a friend who is a painter by trade and he recommended Cabot solid body. I decided on this since our deck as so weathered. It was super easy to apply by roller and looks great. But I think the key is prep. Pressure wash, repairs (crack filler and drop nails / replace with deck screws), and sand it down. Also the wood filler I used (Minwax stainable wood filler) reviews said it doesn’t stain well and may look lighter than the rest of the deck, but this stuff is so thick it stains just fine....

Abysmal Appearance

Only nine days after the job was completed by the well-qualified painting contractor, the DeckCorrect finish has stains all over from oak acorn debris. The stains are from acorn and bark debris that fell during rain storms over the past four or five days. Worked Great

We just did our back deck and it looks great! My husband was a little messy with it, how do I get it off my vinyl siding?

I applied the first coat.

Perhaps a month ago, I bought this. I have a large deck so I am doing it in stages. It covers very well. I am putting it over a lighter color. It does fill the cracks if you take your time. I love the color - Redwood. I am using it to cover a Cedar colored paint.

Color not accurate

We purchased slate gray to match our home. The sample on the lid(paint dab) was perfect but the actual color of the painted deck has a bluish color. Kind of disappointed. It takes effort to apply so is it worth it? I don’t know but we’ll see after a Pittsburgh winter!

Great stuff for decks

Used this on my 30 year old plus deck. it really fills the crack and locks the splinters down. Two coats was a drag but well worth it when done. I put three coats on the deck floor since it was pretty rough. Also, be careful of the color you choose. Beech Wood Gray does not look like the sample shown and was way lighter and all most had a blue look. Lowes made good on it though and I went with Dark Slate instead and it looks awesome.

Had low expectations and was still disappointed

Didn't expect it to fill in 1/4" voids as advertised. But did hope it would fill in minor imperfections, it didn't. Thought maybe the first coat would seal boards and give a good base for the 2nd coat to build up texture and fill in, it didn't. Second coat didn't hide any imperfections or add any thickness to first coat. Deck was prepared and cleaned as instructed. Coverage was less than stated, which I expected. Hopefully it will atleast hold up a year or two before it begins to peel. The color...

So far, So good

I used this on my weathered deck boards. It definitely gave them some life back. Granted, it's only been a few days, but I'm happy so far. My dog went crazy on the deck when company came to visit, and the stain held up after only one day of drying. The color of the dark slate was a bit lighter in color than I hoped. It is more blue and less dark gray than I was hoping. Still satisfied so far.

Needed a quick makeover...

Easy to apply, minimal prep (pressure washed is all), did a reasonable job. No one would mistake this for a new deck, or even a properly resurfaced one lol. But it looks so much better. In the photo, inset is the before pic. Had I stripped and sanded it down I’m sure the results would have been even better; but we needed a speedy makeover to get through 1, maybe 2 more seasons. We’ll also be using outdoor carpet over it, so perfection wasn’t needed. Color exactly as expected.

Not pleased

Expected more I guess. Went on well, did all prep work, let dry per instructions. Found out, stains easily, won't wash-clean well, wears off easily under my porch rocking chairs. I'm disappointed. Won't use on pool deck project.

Exceptional Product

There are few products that exceed my expectations, Cabot's Deck Correct is one of them. I am convinced any negative reviews are unfounded and likely due to improper preparation or weather. I have used several competitors products both as a contractor and personal use and none come close. Excellent product, no question; this is one product worth its cost.

Blisters

I bought all the recommended prep materials and followed all the instructions. Applied two coats and after second coat blisters appeared. I tried to add a picture but it would not up load

Great product albeit not practical

I like the paint and used this on my deck. The quality of the paint is superior. It goes on smoothly and is super easy to mix and use. The color was accurate and we like the depth after two coats. The practicality needs to be improved though since we cannot get rid of dirt from the deck. We tried to used different type of soaps and brushed but it does not seem to clean it fully leaving a shadow of the spots. Please suggest a cleaning product to keep our newly painted deck shiny and presentable...
