Great at first

Just after applying my old deck was beautiful using Deck Correct (dark mulch). The product performed as promised and filled cracks and imperfections. My biggest problem came about a month after applying when my dog walked through the mud then onto the deck. His muddy paws stained the deck and I had to use a scrub brush and Dawn soap to remove the footprint stains. The Deck Correct has been down for about a year and the footprints still have to be scrubbed up every time it rains and he comes back...

Deck and dock railing

Terrible product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used deck correct on my deck/ramp and by wintertime it was chipping!! Stain is not supposed to chip but this did!

Good Coverage but Test Color

I really like how well this product covered our deck and how easy it was to apply. I also really appreciated the quick drying time. I can’t rate the durability because we applied it recently. I will warn others about the color. We used Victory Gray which is not gray but light blue. Definitely not gray. We’ll have to repaint next year and hopefully I can find a color that is actually gray. The company needs to offer samples.

My go to deck finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this stuff. I’ve used it on multiple projects and got lots of others using it now too! It’s super durable and the textured finish is a huge bonus. We used it on an ADA access ramp at our church where it needs to work under all conditions. It hasn’t disappointed.

Good coverage

Great Product, Adequate Prep Required

I applied one coat of this stuff three seasons ago and it is still holding strong. I spent most of my effort focused on PREP WORK. Deck correct is great for old wood, but old wood requires thorough prep. Thoroughly clean, SAND, and allow to dry completely. Crucial steps. I'm reading lots of reviews about peeling after a season or two. Very Durable

On our third year with DeckCorrect used on new treated 5/4 decking. Just cleaned off mildew that forms under a large tree, using a 2300 psi power washer with a surface cleaner. Came out beautifully. People ask what brand of composite is it. Shocked when I show them it's wood.

Can't Recommend

Applied DeckCorrect Spring 2023. Loved the color. Just power washed the deck (May 2024) and the product has flaked off in large and small spots. Very disappointed in the product.

Don't buy this if you're going to use your deck.

Peeled within a year after application. Now I'm stuck with a pock-marked surface and only options are to replace, repaint with this expensive product, or live with it.

Great product.

I bought this product and stained my deck seven years ago. It worked so well that the next year I stained an old Rainbow swing set even though this product says it is not for vertical surfaces. I live in Minnesota so our weather can be extreme. I pressure washed both items before staining. Each year I pressure wash the deck to remove dirt and stains and for the first time I started blowing off chunks of stain. I may have used too forceful a jet on the pressure washer. DEATH BY DECK CORRECT

1 year after being applied by a professional contractor, there was a discolored rusty looking spot around every screw. 2 years, Deck Correct was peeling. 3 years, The wind was blowing off strips of Deck Correct. One of the steps "broke". It was held together by stretched out paint. Deck Correct sealed IN moisture, and the wood completely rotted under the paint. 4 years, every board previously covered with Deck Correct has to be replaced. Wood prices have soared. Don’t waste your money.

Failed after one year. Had this professionally applied twice. Both times failed. Absolute waste of money. Will be using deck over next time

Can't recommend Cabot

I painted my deck last year with Pepperwood and it is peeling already. I used the solid stain for the rails and it hasn't faired much better. It was so disappointing for all that work not to last more than one season. This is expensive not to last any longer than it did. It was pretty much a waste and now I back where I started.

WOULDNT EVER RECOMMEND

CABOT Deck correct did NOT hold up, water got under it and rotted the wood, now i have to replace ALL the flat surface where i used deck correct! Very unsatisfied with the flat surface bubbling up allowing water under it after just one and a half years!

Excellent

I initially used this product 6 years ago. It lasted about four years. I should have reapplied a fresh coating last year. I am covering the deck again. I finished the first coat and will reapply. It's an amazing product. I'm very happy with the results!

I love Cabot Deck Correct!

Worthless do not purchase

Covered decent at first. Did everything the direction said. It chipped off not even a couple days after applying it. Just a giant waste of money. Super disappointed.

Great Colors; Great Coverage

I recommend this product above all other brands that claim they can do the same thing. I have been dealing with an "older" deck for quite sometime now. I have used the same type of product, from at least two other big box brand companies, and the result has been nothing but peeling product from the deck boards after the first New England Winter.
