Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this actually to use on my picnic table. It has a nice color that pretty much matches. Its easy to use, looks great and seems to be doing well at protecting the wood on my picnic table.

Not great paint

Applied this to a white front door. Two coates looked awful. It took four coates to get it to look like your standard two coat application in literally any other paint. After reading all the negative reviews over years I'm surprised Valspar still makes this horrible paint. Fortunately, we chose another brand for the rest of the house.

It curdled after 1 month

I bought this from the home improvement store maybe a month ago. We had a cold spell, so I knew I couldn't use it yet. I kept it INDOORS and I went to open it today and it's chunky and curdled?? I didn't open it after purchasing from the store so I'm not sure when this happened.

Terrible Paint for metal

Put 2 coats of this on a brand new steel pre primed steel door. Door was lightly sanded and cleaned to perfection. Waited 24 hours after 1st coat before second coat. This paint peels right off. No adhesion to pre primed metal door. this paint is supposed to have primer in it as well. I would NOT recommend this at all. Don't touch it with a fingernail, It peels off in strips.

Cannot sand this paint!

I always put on one light coat and then sand it before applying a second coat. This paint cannot be sanded. It drys to a goo consistency, like a rubber, and sanding just produces little round balls of rubber like material. Awful.

Outstanding coverage..

Best paint. When using this product you must first...have experience painting or really pay attention and take your time. Smooth brush strokes grasshopper....most folks are in a rush, couple that with little experience and poof..terrible outcome. If you take your time and focus on doing a great job, this product is perfect and looks awesome. Used on wood tiles and garage door...looks amaze balls!

Painter

We purchased 1 gallon in a dark blue color and used it on a single Door The first coat went on extremely uneven, barely covered the white and developed bubbles! We ended up having to do 3 coats and the door look awful

Color maytched pain

I brought in a used can of paint from another brand of paint and the Lowe's rep in the paint dept quickly matched the color perfectly. Touched up the house trim and absolutely can't tell any difference between the old and new paint.

it is tacky after drying

i used duramax exterior paint on an old screen door it covered well but after a month of drying time it is still tacky to the touch. I understand it needs to dry but how long should it take to not be tacky to the touch.

I bought this as a contrasting color on the 10 by 12 foot shed. Wow! Did it ever make it POP! Love Valspar paint, will no doubt never even think of using any other!

Bubbled

I had my house painted in May. I supplied this paint. Around the first of July I noticed it bubbling. I called the man who painted my house to come back. He said it was nothing he had done and scrapped, sanded, and repainted the bad areas. It happened again. I can't afford to keep getting it done again. I just hope it doesn't cause damage to the wood of my house! So disappointed because I thought I was getting good paint that would last at least a decade!

Two years in and holding

I posted a review two years ago when I finished painting my concrete block foundation It is all over 25 years old but after reading reviews, I sprayed a light primer on first. I also had a small area which is newer and I used the paint without extra primer. Both have survived two cold winters and are stable. Great Paint

Used this paint on my front porch. Went on easily and smooth. Only needed to put one coat down. Color was just a shade darker then what was being covered. Has a nice finish look.

Quality and price

This is a very high quality product. I painted all my eaves and gutters with about one gallon. It covered quickly (one coat) and went on very smoothly and easily. The price was very competitive and the coverage is great.
