What Customers Are Saying

This primer is effective at covering and blocking a range of stains and odors. It is praised for its fast drying time, strong adhesion, and superior hiding power, often allowing users to skip the topcoat. However, the thin, watery consistency can make it challenging to work with, requiring multiple coats and proper ventilation due to the strong fumes.

The Bomb

Would Recommend

This will cover almost ANYTHING and seal it, BUT covering heavy smoke accumulation will need several coats with days of day time between. It is VERY runny and the vapors are explosive ;) For a 20 year chain smoke couple I used One coat of BIN two day of dry time (the manufacturer say this is necessary even though normal dry time is less than one hour) and then a coat of Killz.

The best primer...hands down

Would Recommend

I was reluctant to purchase this primer. I was convinced by a friend that it was the best. Now that I have used it I will never buy another primer. Spreads beautifully and hides everything. So worth the money.

Hard to work with but worth it.

Would Recommend

As other reviewers have noted this is a thin primer, heavy cream like. I have used this multiple times to cover wood to prevent tannins (yellowing) from showing through. It is not worth using inexpensive primers for conering bare wood as they don't work to prevent yellowing. It is best to brush on as opposed to rolling on.

Decent

I bought 2 of these for a room in which the previous occupants smoked in. The walls, ceiling, and floor were washed, and then primered. It covered the remaining smoke stains, but unfortately did very little for the smell. Too expensive for it not to cover the smell. The smell was back less than a couple hours later.

This stuff is good

Would Recommend

Bought this as it is recommended to use on knotty pine prior to using kitchen cabinet transformations. While it is expensive it does what it needed to do. I used two coats on my kitchen cabinets before I painted them white. The cabinets came out great with no bleeding through of the knots. It didn't make sense not to use this and risk ruining the project. Will use again . Highly recommend.

Best primer ever

Bought for cabinets and although it is a bit hard to work with, it is the best primer ever. You cannot scratch through it!

Seals Amazingly Well

Would Recommend

While pricey, this stuff does the job. We used it to seal the stains in the subfloor from dog stains after we pulled up the old carpet and before we installed new flooring. No odors - simple as that.

BIN will cover ANYTHING!

Would Recommend

I've used this product in both spray can and by the gallon and it's the absolute best primer out there no matter what surface you're working with or what top coat you plan on using. It goes on very quickly and dries super fast.
