Ratings & Reviews for Westinghouse iGen2550c Recoil Start 2550 Starting / 1900 Running Watt Gasoline Single Fuel Inverter Generator

Built to be serviced and maintained

Well built little unit (Vietnam). I like the features - Fuel shut off to the carb when the control knob is in the off position. Easy to drain the fuel from the carb for long term storage thanks to the drain screw with attached drain hose. Easy to start - 1 or 2 pulls. This unit is designed to be tossed into the back of a truck without spilling gas during the way thanks to the vent shut off on the fuel cap. It's great both side doors can be removed without tools. The data center is perfect for gi...

Don't bother if you only want to use propane

Getting this thing to start on propane is about impossible. Tried two different full tanks. Choke/no choke. SLOWLY opening tank valve. I could go on and on. Bottom line is, when I needed this generator, it wasn't able to perform. Look elsewhere if you want to use propane.

Impressive lightweight generator. Great price and quiet. Will power rv no problem

fast delivery

very easy to use

Excellent value and great product

Purchases this generator in February of 2026 after adding the oil that came with it and gassing it up I followed the instructions and it started and run on the 3rd pull. The starter rope is very easy to pull allowing most anyone to easily start it. I was shocked at how quit this machine runs. I checked the power output with my meter and it was showing a steady 125 volts under no load .I am very well pleased with this purchase.

Convenient; Ladies, It’s Not As Heavy To Move

We bought this during winter storm fern. We were concerned about weight, difficulty, etc. as women larger mechanics scan be awkward. I was pleasantly surprised. We needed something for an emergency like this. Would recommend purchase to prepare for weather such as this or convenience! Bought gas cans with nozzle for easier filling.

RUNS GREAT

LOOKS GOOD AND RUNS GREAT. MOUNTED IT ON WHEELED CART FOR EASY MOVING

Good value and good quality.

Starts easily, runs smoothly and quietly. Lives up to its advertising.

It comes with a pre measured oil container.

The quick start menu was very helpful I also liked the maintenance guide that came with this

Generator

Great Generator glad that i purchased this generator better than the predator that i purchased and did not work, gave it away

Great generator

So glad I purchased this generator, easy to use better than the predator generator that I had purchased and did not work.

Decent but Cheap pull cord recoil starter

Very pleased through 30 hours of use, then pull start cord stayed out and wouldn't retract. Investigation showed the internal plastic of the recoil pull start mechanism broke and pieces got caught and jammed everything. Replacement part is 13$ on their website but it is a slight pain to replace.

Feature Rich and quiet!

I just picked up my iGEN2550C last week and so far I'm completely impressed! At 42 lbs, this should be no problem taking along between my primary and secondary residence. It is unbelievably quiet as well. I've heard many conventional generators in the past that are deafening. But at low 50's db, I can actually have a conversation only a few feet away. Not that I'm looking forward to a power outage anytime soon, but when it happens I know I'm going to feel very reassured that my critical power ne...

Easy directions

Esay to set up and straight forward. Haven't used it yet, but looking forward to it.

Good value for price

Purchased primarily for outdoors activities such as hunting camps, ice fishing, recreational camping.

Great until it stops working suddenly

Great running and quiet until it just stopped working and won’t fire back up after a year and a half. Maybe has 45 hrs on it

Great Little Generator

This is my second Westinghouse generator and both are excellent. Easy to start and reliable. Very well made and do the job!

Nice generator

I bought product for storm power, waiting to try. Possibly this weekend.
