Ratings & Reviews for Westinghouse iGen2550c Recoil Start 2550 Starting / 1900 Running Watt Gasoline Single Fuel Inverter Generator

This will work well with my power station..

Do not purchase

Both Lowe’s and Westinghouse have been completely unethical and unreliable in handling my situation. I received a defective product, and despite contacting both companies, neither has been willing to properly resolve the issue. This is completely unacceptable. Customers should not have to fight to get a defective product issue addressed. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before purchasing from either company.

not a fan but dont hate either

I bought my first one of these generators on may 11 2025. it worked okay the first summer. it would occasionally complain about oil even though it was full. I would lean it from side to side and end to end a few times and it would stop complaining. the recoil started broke twice and I managed to fix it both time but the 3rd time I tried the inserts in the plastic that hold the recoil to the frame seized up and I could not get it off. I also had to replace the muffler because the tail pipe...

Super Quiet Small Generator

Awesome small generator. Very quiet. Perfect for tailgating

Quiet

Nice works well for my she shed was looking for something quieter than a normal generator.

Finally running good

Bought during power outage, last one they had, floor model, no owners manual, funnel or spark plug wrench. They did give me some 4 cycle oil. Very hard to get started. Cust support # not much help. Emailed me some instructions after a few days that were not for this Gen. 3rd time I called got Cody--really sharp, tried his suggestions, working great now. Thanks to Cody!!

I bought for an emergency power outage. Worked perfectly, a really nice generator!

Lifesaver

I got so lucky. I bought this mid July and we had a derecho with tornadoes come through our town August 11. This little guy ran smoothly for 11 days. Simple and clean power. It’s not going to run your whole house but had no issue running my fridge or sump pump. Thank you Westinghouse!

Great Features

Great Generator, and a nice oil funnel came with it.

Having electricity is a great thing!

Bought this last week and ran it for the break-in period and it worked great. We will be all set the next time our power goes out!

Nice features

It's great for the picnics and family projects and outings that my family does

Looking good!

I'm getting ready to start it up. It looks clean and I like the design

Great Generator

Love this generator! Lightweight, quiet, and runs well.

Portable and just the size I need

I have not had to use this generator yet but after our ice storm in January and without power for 2-1/2 days, I was determined NOT to be without a generator ever again! I did extensive research and this brand and model seemed to fulfill my needs. I just wanted a unit to power a portable heater, a table lamp and a crockpot to cook in and heat water for a bath in an emergency. Westinghouse is a very well known and trusted brand so I’m willing to bet it will perform nicely if/when needed.

Easy to use

Easy to operate right out of the box. Add oil and gas, pull 5 times and it runs great.

Brought this for our grain bin rescue trailer to power our rescue fans and lights

Works as it should so far. Added oil and gas, two pulls on rope and started right up. Ran quiet and smooth. Only for stars because I have not had a chance to actually use it.

Quiet and fast

We our new campers and we brought a generator someone gave us and it did not work. We ran into friends who had the Westinghouse iGEN 2200 and they charged our trailer so fast and it went to full charge and it was so quiet . They said they’ve had theirs for five years with no problems. So we went right home and bought one for ourselves! We can’t wait to try it out on our next camping trip.

Great features

We purchased our generator after 15 hours with no power, 72 hours later it finally came back on. This generator met and exceeded our expectations. Loud to be sure but it powered much more than we thought capable. We took turns running our refrigerator, chest freezer and our air conditioner all night long. Charged 5 phones at once and my Keurig! Great choice for our family of 5
