Has ability to change one blade depending on Outlet. Do not recommend over stripping. Carefully layout and mark cables before stripping. Can save rework. Used with 10 garage stranded

50amp hard to connect wires

With 50amp you need 8/3 twisted as a min the posts are so close together it's very hard to connect the large wires to the post. I would have liked something larger so the wires connecting to the post are easier to connect.

Dryer plug

Easy replacement plug for dryer. I would recommend changing out the receptacle at the same time, if plug was bad good chance one or more receptacle end are bad also.

Wires come loose

Tried to use this with 10 ga stranded wire. Started putting the two halves together after connecting the wires and one of them fell out. Thinking I hadn't tightened it up enough, I reattached it. While doing that, another fell off. Found that slight movement of the wire will loosen the clamp, almost no matter how much torque I put on it. I don't trust it.

50 amp male plug

Too tight for 6 guage wire

This is definitely not for heavy gauge wire. I'm building a 50 amp generator cord using 6/3 wiring. I used the striped casing from the neutral to shield the bare ground wire. It took a lot of effort to get the wires sequenced into the housing so that the ground was under the other wires and the lugs for the neutral and hot weren't cutting into the insulation on the ground. Need this item for AWG 6 wire

Bought this plug to use with my generator. I should have read the reviews before I purchased this item. After two hours I finically gave up and returned the plug. Lowes should not sell this for a 50 amp service

Total Unsafe Garbage

There is no way this product should EVER be used for a 50 amp. The cheap lugs deform and screws strip out long before you can get it tight enough to hold wires securely. This product should be recalled. It might be adequate for a 20 amp service, but no way for 50 amp and I doubt 30 amp. Lowes should be ashamed to have this on their shelves.

To small for the cable

Four wire 50 amp cord was way bigger than the plug would accept, couldn’t use it.

Functional Junk

This is listed as a 14-50P, a 4-prong 50A plug. This is standard for RV 50A systems, and requires 50A per hot leg, and that specs #6 wire. Good luck with that! I use it for a 50A outlet on my home backup generator, which produces 40A, so I used #8 4 conductor. That barely fits in the strain relief. NOTE: Even for that to fit, the inserts have to be removed!
