Use Blocks and check ballister holes

It was actually easier to install than expected. Instructions aren't the greatest. Using two wooden blocks that you have cut 3 7/8" placed below the bottom railing helps set the elevation of each section of railings. This avoids having to measure the height of the bottom of each section. Also, test the ballisters to see if they will go into each hole. My husband installed our railing in 2 days by himself. I would not be happier. I am glad I did my researched and shopped around. I would recommend this to anyone.

Stair rail kit is not 6 feet

The instructions tell you to measure along the stair angle, not horizontally, as the kit will not span 6 feet horizontal. However, the railing pieces in the box are cut square at 6 feet. Since angle cuts are required, this reduces the maximum angled length. Stupidly, Trex did not appropriately offset the baluster holes so the longest possible length is 5 feet 8 inches if you want equal baluster spacing at each end. Can’t perform requirements to warrant product

My contractor installed these railings on our upper deck - 14 ft off the ground. They look beautiful but 6 months after the install Trex’s screws that come with the railing have deteriorated from the rain so much so they are splitting in half causing my husband to have to drill into what is left in the wood. The problem is my contractor informed me Trex won’t warranty the railings if you do not install according to their product using their products - well their screws are worthless.And nosed ...

Easy to Assemble

I looked at several railing options but chose this railing system because it best matched the Trex Decking. I purchased 8 horizontal and 2 stair sections. The railing system was easy to assemble. The instructions were easy to follow but two people made the assembly process better.

Overall a solid product. Looks great. However, the black balusters do make move slightly and make some noise with heavy traffic.

Nice product.

Overall a nice product. The plastic support pieces are a bit cheap and flimsy for such an expensive product. They could have done better. The tracks only come in 6’ sections. I had a lot of waste, because I had four 4’ sections. The final results is awesome.

Multiple broken post covers

Terrible system, terrible quality control. I was able to make the system work, through endless modification of the parts. The mounting mechanism of the railings is primitive at best. If your stair rails are not at the exact angle for the Trex system, they will not work. Poor quality. I had about 15 post sleeves, 4 of which were in perfect packaging, yet broken out of the box. Endless time lost because of this. I'll be advising all my cusotomers to not use any Trex products.

Although I didn’t install it, it looks great. What an amazing facelift for my home.
