Would RecommendI ended up going with Trex deck boards when the price of lumber was about as expensive as composite. In the end, I'm glad I went with composite so as to save me from the constant staining and maintenance that the later years would require. I have a ton of pine trees over my deck and I find the pine needs don't stain the duckboards like they used to on regular wood deck boards. Trex Decking - So Much Nicer Than Treated Wood
Would RecommendI installed Trex deck boards (beach dune) on my 200 square foot deck, and I love the way it looks, and its so easy to clean with just a hose. My old deck is only a few inches off the ground and was still very solid, but the wood surface was so weather beaten after 30+ years, so I painted the old wood with 2 coats of the very thick Cabot Deck Correct to seal it thoroughly, and then applied the Trex boards right over top of the old deck lumber.
