This torture device is the worst possible way to solve a rodent problem. I dont care what anyone else says, it is not strong enough to kill rats, maybe a mouse, but this is advertised for rats. I dont know how long that poor little creature suffered through freezing cold and pain before I walked out this morning to see him, trapped, completely alive and in a condition he could have survived if he could escape. Didn’t get anything

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We set the trap as instructed And didn’t get results. It was easy to use. We thought we had a rat problem but after setting the trap, even though we didn’t SEE results the problem disappeared. I would try again with this product if it was necessary again.

They DO work!

I had a problem with rats showing up on my patio, Tried a lot of products to get rid of them, but so far the Tomcat RatSnap Trap works best! I'm a 70 year old woman, and I've caught over 20 of them in recent months with Tomcat SnapTraps! I've tried another cheaper brand of snap traps, but the Tomcat is definitely more reliable. I bait them with peanut butter. I like that they are easy to set and easy to clean up and reuse.

New model of rat trap is terrible

I was very happy with the old model of trap that had a larger space for the rat to get it's entire head in before being triggered. The new version is too small an area for a rat. The bait indentation is too close to the edges. It keeps catching them on their snouts which is a terrible way to die. I want to kill them quickly, not torture them.

works like any other trap but doesn't kill

We have trapped 3 rats and each time they have been in the trap over 5 hours before we find them and have to kill them. I put them in water to drown them but the old school snap traps kill way more efficiently than these cheap plastic wanna be teeth chompers. a redesign is needed.

It's amazing & so easy!

I have 4 of them. Easy to set, easy to release!!!!! I am telling everyone to definitely buy this one. So glad I discovered this in the hardware store! Won't be using anything else! Thank you so much!

I have used the wooden rat traps with limited success before so when I had an uninvited rat guest appear in my kitchen, I decided to give the TomCat rat snap trap a try. Traps break

I have 4 of them and they are fairly expensive. If you catch one rat they won’t ever work again. Waste of money , extremely disappointed

Simply WORKS !

didn't want to catch my fingers in the old spring trap, or have to touch the dead rats. Saw these at Lowes and bought two to try out. After catching at least 10 rats, one of them broke and the other is still going strong. Just bought 6 more to replace the broken one (we have a lot of rats and mice around here). Poor kill rate

Well I got this trap as an alternative to the old fashion traps. Much easier and safer to set without worrying about catching a finger in it. The results have been mixed. I have had the trap several months. I bait with peanutbutter. I have chickens so use it to control rats which are attracted to their food source. Out of 10 rats I caught in this trap only three were killed. The rest all had their feet or arms caught in it. Onetime I was left with just an arm in the trap and no rat. This leaves...

These actually WORK!!!

I moved into my mother's old house and apparently it has a freeway for rats in it somewhere. So I bought 3 of these traps, because the little traps I found were too small to catch rats, And the wooden wire ones for rats was too hard for me to set. We have caught a ton of rats and mice in these sometimes two at a time! I do wish that we could buy replacement bait cups though.

Great at first but a torture chamber Now?

Bought this trap last year to kill chipmunks. Efficient and easy to load and unload. However, this year it has turned into a torture chamber! Threw it away after finding a third chippy caught by a leg trying desperately to escape....

Worked well

Kills Half the Time

So far I have caught 8 rats in 2 months with these, what bothers me 4 were killed and 4 had 1 leg trapped causing them to suffer until I had to kill them myself. I don't mind dumping the dead rats in the garbage but I don't like having to kill them myself. The pad to trigger them should be smaller so more of the rat is inside the trap so when it trips it gets more of the body and not a leg.

Bought 6 traps put peanuts out of shell Within one hour all full of rats I can’t recycle sorry- Bought more-16 minutes 4 more big fat boys Beyond easy and effective- Going back for more- wish they were other then plastic so I did not feel bad about throwing away but NO WAY I am taking those rats out of trap- double yuk-

Easy to Use Rat Elimination

After almost snapping fingers with the old fashioned/wooden traps (especially for rats) decided to give the TOMCAT Rat trap a try. Very easy directions on how to set and placement. Used the TomCat attractant gel, easy to apply in removable feeding well (size of a pencil eraser). Killed two rats very first night.

Love these traps but - not strong enough??

I have caught a lot of rats with these traps. I do throw them away after each catch. I have no clue how I get rats every once in awhile under my home. I have a sewer manhole right outside my property and think there is a hole somewhere where they come under the house. I have had my house inspected but there is one corner of the house they can't get to.
