What Customers Are Saying

The Grabit Damaged Screw Remover has mixed reviews regarding its performance. While some users found it effective at removing stripped or damaged screws, the majority reported that the tool failed to grip or extract the screws, and in some cases, it further damaged the screw heads or enlarged the holes. The instructions for using the tool were also unclear, and a few reviewers commented on the poor quality of the tool itself.

Works as advertised

Would Recommend

Needed to pull out several stripped out #10 screws and as long as you follow the instructions, these worked perfectly. Took no effort at all to get them out. Highly recommended. (just remember to keep your drill in reverse for both procedures)

Amazing

Would Recommend

Stripped 3 screws on my 70 inch tv stand, I wanted to remove to hang on the wall. I tried the rubber band trick, the duck tape trick nothing worked. Saw this and thought it was t going to work after removing 1 stripped screw I already know whoever didn't give it 5 stars obviously has no clue what they're doing.

Worked like a charm

Would Recommend

Worked like a charm on a screw that I stripped trying to get a cover off of a shower floor drain. I went out and got this little product only to find out that I don't have a drill that reverses. Luckily the bit fit right into my Black and Decker cordless screwdriver that does reverse and the slower torque actually helped better than a powerful drill. This little device took the screw out in about a minute.

Sometimes works, sometimes does not

Got this to help with disassembling of an old structure made out of pressure treated lumber and corresponding screws that was covered in soil. Some of the screw heads rusted out. I had about 50% success rate to get out stripped screws.

Excellent but tricky and needs a labeled box

Would Recommend

This is a very good product but read the instructions. This does NOT work like most screw extractor sets. Typically, a set will include a drill bit that is driven in the "Forward" direction to drill a pilot hole. Then the extractor will be hammered into the pilot hole and a wrench will be used to grab the extractor and turn in a counter clockwise direction. That is, there is no drill used to actually remove the screw. This product works but is different. Both ends are used in the drill. And bot...

Doesn't Grabit

Out of approximately 20 different screws, this thing could only remove one. Don't buy it. It's a waste of money!

Stuck on car rotors...

Would Recommend

I bought these bits after trying every trick I knew to remove the retaining screws from a set of rusted brake rotors. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently this worked. Drill out with one side of the bit, and unscrew with the other. Absolutely brilliant! Saved me hours of pain. I agree with the other commenter who suggested using a wrench to torque the exposed bit to help with the initial breaking of the rust. Couldn't be more happy with my purchase.

Worthless

Bore a hole in the screw, put the extractor in and it just spun around. It can't grip anything in the hole. Consider this a donation to Lowe's.

Good product

Would Recommend

The Grabit was helpful when I stripped a screw while installing wire shelving. The tool worked great to remove the screw and I was able to replace the screw and finish the job. I also had several deck screws that were rusted out that this tool allowed me to remove the screw and replace the boards easily.

Work 100% As Advertised

Would Recommend

I am not mechanically or handyman-inclined at all. That being said, when a screw stripped while trying on my own to replace and upgrade my kitchen sink (mistake #1 lol), I had ZERO confidence that I would be able to get myself out of this mess without having to hire a plumber to get the screw out. But With a little help from Google and ultimately deciding on this product, I followed the directions in the package and had the stripped screw removed in under 10 minutes. Honestly, I was SHOCKED that...

Didn't work as advertised

This product did not work as advertised. I had to go to Sears and buy a kit for twice the price to get the job done. I returned this kit to Lowe's.

Best Screw Remover I've Tried

Would Recommend

This thing really works. Follow the directions, and this thing (2 bits included) will save a lot of time and aggravation. I tried other brands, and thought for the price I'll give it a try. You won't be sorry, and just remember to use reverse for both ends of the bit. Also, go real easy when you back out the damaged one.

Easy, quick

Would Recommend

I was surprised at how easy it was to use. It was a small screw that was recessed and stripped. Came right out.

Complete Waste of Money

Would Not Recommend

No bigger waste of 13 dollars available on the market today. If you want to take a partially stripped screw head and completely strip it so you'll never be able to remove it, then by all means buy this product. Otherwise save your money.
