What Customers Are Saying
The Grabit Damaged Screw Remover has mixed reviews regarding its performance. While some users found it effective at removing stripped or damaged screws, the majority reported that the tool failed to grip or extract the screws, and in some cases, it further damaged the screw heads or enlarged the holes. The instructions for using the tool were also unclear, and a few reviewers commented on the poor quality of the tool itself.

Would RecommendI had a pair VERY stripped 3" long screw in the edge of the door. No, this was not my doing. The first screw took me 45 minutes (and some panicking) to get out. With the screw being partially stripped I could not close the door! The screw below it was even more stripped and it was very annoying, as I needed to change the deadbolt. After reading some reviews, I was very skeptical about this product. In fact, I had even tried to use and extractor set to no avail. So I felt skeptical. However, I di...
Screw removal
Would RecommendStripped two hex keys on seized screw. Drilled with grab bit and got the screw out in less than thirty seconds....excellent!
garbage
Would Not RecommendI had torx screws that were stripped. I followed the directions exactly. I ended up with worse stripped out screws than before. Now the only way to get rid of them is to use a bolt cutter to cut the part of the screw that isnt in the wood then paint over them. DO NOT BUY THIS!! IT WILL MAKE YOUR JOB WORSE!!
Grabit
Would RecommendThis tool does what it says. It works extremely well. I really recommend it.
Grabit
Would RecommendWhen replacing several hinges during our home renovation, I stripped several screws. After reading the directions, Grabit worked as designed. Removing the screws was like spreading soft butter on bread.
Grout Genie
Would Not RecommendThis kit is labeled "Grout & Tile Cleaning System." My fault for not reading the package more closely. In fact, the kit must be used with a Swiffer Wetjet. It contains just two pads, each with a thin strip of bristles, and eight plain pads for cleaning after scrubbing. Thankfully, it was on sale as a clearance item, so I didn't lose much.
Great product
Would RecommendThis did great at getting the messed up screw that weren't hold my fireplace mantle level when they built. Two of the four screw didn't even touch the wood because the stripped them out while installing them.
didn't work for me
Would Not RecommendI purchased this to remove a stripped screw holding a door hinge in a door. The tools, I tried both, did a good job of cleaning out the stripped metal but the end of the tool that needed to "grab" or "bite" the stripped screw never did its job. I would not purchase this paticular one.
worked perfectly
Would RecommendSeems more and more lately screws that come with anything you purchase are complete garbage. I had a screw that was fairly hard to get to in a TV stand i wanted to return the TV so i had to take the stand apart. That darn screw was not coming out no matter what i tried. This product was the ticket!! Worked like a charm !!
Didn't work
Would Not RecommendAnd actually stripped the two screws even worse. Maybe it will work better with other screws. But for its first time out, it failed at the one job it claims to do.
Worked like a charm!
Would RecommendHad a corroded radiator protector screw/rubber bumper that was crumbling and wouldn't take any screwdriver head. I started trying to drill it out in desperation but something made me stop and turn to Google and YouTube. Rushed to Lowe's to get a similar more generic item and saw this above it so snagged it. Followed the directions and the screw backed right out! Only gave it four stars, because the screw is still stuck to the GRABIT bit. I couldn't readily find any advice on how to get it off, n...
Doesn't Work
I went to Lowes to get a metal drill bit to drill into a stripped screw so I could use the screw extractor that I had. The sales person looked at my screw extractor and told me that it may or may not work. Drilling into the screw with a bit would weaken it. He recommended Grabit. I bought the 4 piece Pro (extra strong) kit $19. I watched multiple YouTube videos and read the directions multiple times. I used it with the drill in reverse as instructed. I have yet to get one screw out wi...
Grabit
Would Not RecommendDon't recommend this. Would NOT grab the screw heads for reversal.
Would've paid $150+ for my GRABIT!
Would RecommendFrantically searched online for a way to remove stripped screws at the start of a small but impactful reno and after rubberbands didn't do the trick I settled on trying GRABIT from my local Lowe's. Did I mention that my dozen + stripped screws were also painted over? SUCH A NIGHTMARE. I spent the entire trip to Lowe's and back trying to convince myself that I could live with a house full of awful painted over door hinges and that no one but me would even notice (there's one friend I know who wou...
It was a long battle, but I was victorious!
Would RecommendI had a stripped screw in the back of my LCD TV that secures the TV base. I had to get the base off to properly pack it to move. I tried the smaller bit first and it drilled it out, but wouldn't extract the screw. Tried the larger and no luck. The screw sits in a recess in the TV housing so I had no other options. I finally got mad and drilled the heck out of it. Then I used the extractor side very slowly and it finally caught and removed it. Took about 2 hours but it does work. Now that...
