HDMI features are great

Replacing and older version Sony product with this because of the upgraded features. Never had any problems with there products.

Sounds great

I had an old 3D Denon AV receiver. Been fighting with it for years. Now with 4K it was a good excuse to upgrade. The 5.2 sounds awesome!!

Great sound I'm so happy!!

I bought this AV receiver to replace one that had lost a channel and didn't work well anymore. Man, I am glad I did buy the STR-DH590. It sounds so good watching movies (just watched all of Lost in Space. FM radio sound great good reception. I love watching youtube with the great sound. I have more to explore now sound wise.

Great surround sound receiver

I bought this system for my man cave because I wanted a simple 5.2 channel system but boy was I surprised by how great it sounded and how well it interfaced with my TiVo, XBox, DVD player. It works and sounds better than my system that costs twice the $$$ I have in the den! It may not have internet capabilities but why worry about that when all my other devices do!

Works great but no AM radiol

Even though the receiver works great, I was surprised to find (after I purchased it) that it does not the ability to get AM station only FM...very disappointed.

Excellent features with an odd software bug

This system did everything I hoped it would do and a few things I was surprised it could do. Super easy to setup, even with a relatively complicated collection of devices: Roku, DVD player, CD player, Bluetooth devices, and cable. It isn't, apparently, easy to use, however. I had to program a Logitech Smart Remote to manage all of the receiver and device functions so that my wife could figure it out. That accomplished, the unit did the job nicely for about 2 years. Easy to install and works great!

I bought this a week ago to replace a Yamaha receiver for my surround sound and my son had no problems installing. The remote works through my screened cabinet easily to turn on and to adjust the volume! Love the bluetooth!

Nice Receiver

Just purchased this unit but found the instructions easy to follow and set-up was straight forward. Really liked the input microphone to automatically adjust all surround speakers. Wish the HDMI inputs were labelled more logically (like "TV" vs. "SAT/CATV"). Also accidentally pushed the "TV" button on the remote and then got no sound. Later realized I needed to push the "SAT/CATV" button. Why have the "TV" button?? Anyway, still like the product!

Mostly great

I e had this receiver for about two months now and like just about everything… except that I use the eARC function of this receiver and when I want to use the Bluetooth function on the receiver it will not allow me to play music without turning the tv on. I end up spending way too much time trying to turn just the receiver on that it gets frustrating.

Great receiver that produces fantastic sound !!

Fantastic. I replaced an old, 2005 Onkyo 5.1 A/V receiver that did not have any HDMI ports nor an HDMI/ARC compatible port and had lost the volume to one speaker output. I had just purchased the new 75" Sony Bravia TV and wanted to take advantage of the compatibility and all that this system has to offer. The configuration menu displayed on my TV was pretty cool also and made it much easier to configure all my other equipment I have hooked up to the receiver. A great product at a great price. W...

Easy to set up, the ARC lets you use 1 remote ( appletv) to control “ EVERYTHING”

Excellent receiver

The Sony DH590 receiver has been great for home theater. The Bluetooth function and Wi-Fi function of this receiver allows any type connection to your device such as phone or computer. Love it.

Unsupported garbage

Sony and their endless phone trees and underpaid employees who care little to nothing about their substandard and poorly supported products. The organization’s future is dubious at best. I’ll never buy again.

Yet more Sony Quality

See title. Only downsides are1/did not come with hdmi or toslink(optical) cables. 2/can’t get full sacd layers of my Sony dvd/hi-def to play—or, it keeps out saying 16/44 sound quality.

Sound and easy of setup

Love the quick setup to get your speakers sound right. Love the sound.

Seems to work well, two things I would like to have, 1 improved visual markings on the unit, 2 out jacks (ports) for recording to cd's and cassette units.
